You will never convince me that it's good politics for Democrats to cater to the imagined anxieties of bigots rather than condemn them.

I have come to the idea that we have to collectively, brutally, ritualistically kill Target just to show capital that we truly aren’t fucking around.

This won't be a popular opinion, but I really enjoy eating cheese.
"This won't be a popular opinion" means "I can feel that I am wrong but I can't keep my mouth shut."

Except when I say it.

When I say it, it means I'm about to say something that is a popular opinion.

We all should start saying that Trump is an illegitimate president due to the 14th Amendment’s plain text and his pardons are null and void
dems should start saying that presidential pardons dont apply to international war crimes and in fact implicate the president, no idea if thats true but they should start saying it

It really is precisely the inverse of how much work you actually are doing
The numbers in here are hilarious.

Do you use AI on the job?
Execs: 87%
Managers: 57%
Workers: 27%

Planned investment by 2030: $5T
"Necessary" annual revenue to justify that spend: $650B
Current annual revenue: $50B
Three years into the generative-AI wave, demand for the technology seems surprisingly flimsy

I think a big thing I struggle with, and something that is an important thing for people of my generation to attempt to understand, is separating toxic nostalgia from knowledge of the actual ways in which American life has gotten appreciably worse in my lifetime
it’s so weird to look around and realize like, tech and media are materially worse than a decade ago

This inversely maps on to my prior assumptions about how much time each class spends on productive activities.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

My advice for people who want to be prepared for the future AI economy:

Learn to write well without assistance. Learn to draw. Learn music theory and color theory. Pick up some musical instruments and practice with the one that speaks to you most. Watch Bob Ross videos with an easel in front of you

Which news media that most people have heard of am I supposed to like?

Washington Post has a right-wing publisher who was disgraced in the low-integrity world of British media.

NYTimes has Sulzberger.

CBS has EIC Bari Weiss.

Condé Nast made Olivia Nuzzi WC editor of their flagship publication.
I’m not sure what to make of this survey, honestly? If you’re a young person in solidarity with Gaza, or against police killings, or you’re trans or queer, would you have reason to trust the news?
A lost generation of news consumers? Survey shows how teenagers dislike the news media
You don't have to tell Cat Murphy or Lily Ogburn about the attitudes of young people toward journalists.
