Benito is a threat b/c he makes art so alluring and enjoyable you want to understand everything about it and then you end up learning about sugar and slavery and colonialism and the Taínos and Hawaii and then you probably have some thoughts of your own, and that's why art is powerful and dangerous

Great tyranny, lay thou thy basis sure,

ICE love to murder people whose last words are things like "I'm not mad at you" or "are you ok?"

Minnesotans are really setting the blueprint for fighting fascism. They are being shot dead in the street and still they come out to protect their people. They continue to document, to alert neighbors, to buy and drop off groceries. Everyday. May we all be so brave

It is a truth universally acknowledged that ICE are a bunch of goose-stepping cowardly little bitches.

Northanger deserves a truly great adaptation with a director who really goes for it. I also think it is the one Austen novel that would benefit from an expanded B and C story. The 80s version is bananas and I love it for that reason, but I want that energy plus an auteur treatment.

I was surprised at how funny it was!

That’s totally fair. I really enjoyed it, but I took it very slow and read a lot of annotated content alongside the book. I don’t know that I would have liked it without the added context. That being said, I definitely had to set it down a few times and get away from all the whale facts 😂
