This isn't something I had to think about until somewhat recently (because gaming was still mostly "young") but we've been hitting the point where seeing an IP come back (a thing I would had wanted years ago) feels -real- pathetic

Like I hate to say this, the first DR was almost 20 years ago

Playing ZOE 2 MARS and I kinda love the visuals? Just speaking remakes and stuff where I am generally down on them, I love the texture work here. It's an neat middle ground where the textures are high fidelity but the actual models are still relatively simply, detail drawn rather than modeled out

Waiting to learn that Pacman Arrangement arcade has some kind of massive critical flaw cuz a game this good being so under-hyped is insane.

Maybe it's just the poor availability

To me this may as well be a flashing neon sign that says "never play our game."

Not like I'm actively playing fighters right now anyway, but if I was looking for one, the absolute last one I'd pick would be one that threatens to throw out all of my work on a monthly basis.

Very clear illustration of how propaganda works – some OpenAI hack publishes a non-peer-reviewed preprint of a paper alongside multiple other OpenAI hacks (most of whom are not clearly listed as working for OpenAI), getting an inexpert journalist to make a deeply unserious claim on social media.

Pointed out by my friend @carloshasanax.bsky.social . There's something weird and unsettling about a fairly homogeneous culture spread out across Europe that then collapses into an orgy of genocide.

I do not believe that justice exists as a metaphysical absolute that society has to try to live up to. I think justice is an ideology and, like all ideologies, it is a way of rationalising the material conditions of life imposed on us.

The irony of using "performative" as a pejorative is that, while overtly claiming to be against "merely symbolic gestures," its very use signals a knowledge of Concepts.

Your irregular reminder: "performative" means "doing by saying," as in contracts, pledges etc. And, that money is "symbolic."

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.
