Well, now that I’ve seen it, it’s pretty much exactly as demented an oversight that No Other Choice wasn’t even nominated for Best Foreign Film, like Decision To Leave before it. Oscars just don’t understand Park Chan-wook I guess, but these are like immaculate films, you guys.

Leigh Brackett rules, one of my heroes. Oh, I just wrote The Big Sleep, The Long Goodbye, Empire Strikes Back, and Rio Bravo, enn bee dee.
Leigh Brackett was one hell of a great Sci-Fi and Noir author. Leigh wrote the original script for The Empire Strikes Back. She wrote three of Howard Hawks’ toughest Westerns and co-wrote two of the best Raymond Chandler movies ever made. She was also Ray Bradbury’s best friend.

Some of the funnest evening Sketchfest shows are sold out (good!), and instead of trying to get into them anyway I thought “is there a movie playing nearby?” Yes, new Park Chan-wook is starting in five minutes a five minute walk away. Fuckin’ say no more, ain’t No Other Choice!
