In 1988 Canadians were warned about free trade, in 1994 that Walmart wants ALL the business not a share. American exceptionalism now in the White House. Canadians have to continue the boycott, find and exploit any American weaknesses and their greatest vulnerability is exceptionalism.

The reporting is incomplete unless we know what the number of Canadian officers doing the same in the US is by proportion. I doubt it is 0. I know that there is travel back and forth, possibly some integrated training, system harmonization, joint investigations, undercover ops at the least.

They will theoretically be paid for work during the shutdown if funding is eventually approved. Can't happen in Canada because defeat of an Appropriation Act, i.e. Main Estimates, is non-confidence and triggers an election with funding continuing under Governor General Special Warrants.

Essentially, the PBO is an unnecessary and incomplete duplication of the Department of Finance, who, will release the *real* fiscal outlook in a few weeks. Then the intended *watchdogs*, elected MPs, should be expected to undertake their duty as manager of the public purse under media scrutiny.
