Kamala Harris ran a good, very aggressive campaign, but started at a significant deficit, and ran headlong into a ocean of misogyny, which has continued to dog her even more post-election, now that people feel empowered to say what they REALLY think about her

Entirely predictably, the Dem-hating asshats who’ve demanded Kamala Harris work for their entertainment for free are very VERY mad she’s fronting a new effort to bring news to voters on here.

Idk why these people feel the need to keep proving that anyone against Harris is just a terrible person.

But also, and this speaks to the sort of clarity of thinking that’s really needed in this grim political moment, there’s a difference between expressing despair because you’re feeling despair and want solidarity in its expression and viewing despair, in all contexts, as more sophisticated than hope.

People who are so poor they need to know the exact price of groceries down to the cent are a tiny, tiny minority of the population, actually. This is a core left-of-center delusion about society: that the bottom income decile represents some kind of majority.
Somebody who has to make insecure survival choices every week does actually know the exact price of milk (today) and knows experientially the difference that two percent makes. There's actually more of them than there are those of us in this position, sadly. You're just wrong here.

The kayfabe of this website is that Big Accounts get fed Axios Bullshit (sometimes it’s from the New York Times) and cite it to say the thing they wanted to say all along, that they’d say no matter what.
Just a bunch of dudes absolutely committed to being miserable. We could see what language appears in a bill that could come up for a vote, or we could do this.

Schumer posted this last night. #2 is a pretty straight forward "No masks: prohibit ICE & immigration enforcement agents from wearing face coverings."

Its worth asking why these ppl feel the need to constantly poison the well by lying about what you can verify for yourself w your own eyes.

Keeping it from getting into power in the first place with your very votes prevents people having to resist it with their very lives. The time for resistance was November 5, 2024, and voters, collectively, chose fascism. Leftists did their part to convince voters the alternative to fascism is worse.

Yeah, like these nitwits still haven’t figured out the way to avoid being here is not to spend 18 months poisoning the well against the one option to prevent fascism.

Now that we are here, yes, maybe start listening to us since that was too much to ask before, and you fucked up.
"None of us figured out how to avoid being here."

IT WAS CALLED "FILL IN A LITTLE OVAL NEXT TO THE BLACK LADY'S NAME IN NOVEMBER 2024."
The difference between anarchism and liberalism on this front is that anarchism has never been successful at anything. Anarchists have barely mastered "running an off-putting bookstore"

It really shouldn’t feel that easy in your soul to accuse people you’ve never met of supporting *genocide* based on a 300 character internet post.

No one is Gaza is helped by your doing that.

The only reason you’re doing that is an attempt to make the other person seem untouchable to others.

It is not a virtue to just toss around suffering as a way of making yourself feel like a better person than your internet foes.

It is so enraging, and so commonplace. They don’t care about the Palestinians. They care about the idea of the Palestinians, only because they’re rhetorically useful.

It would be an incredible feat of legislating to get half this stuff, I don’t see the utility in preemptively discounting it

I find the @whstancil.bsky.social backlash strangely fascinating.

At its core it seems to be a desperate effort by folks further to the left to avoid having a liberal (with communication skills) become the face of their movement.

But, to be honest, winning was always going to require that.

Can't wait until it happens
I swear this clip is not edited. Trump pivots from downplaying the killing of Renee Good and Alex Pretti ("two people out of tens of thousands and you get bad publicity") to in the very next breath claiming "we've been very tough on the waters," leaving Tom Llamas baffled ("the waters?")

House Republicans don’t understand the separation of powers on things like judicial warrants — or pretend not to, since most of them have only known the Trump era. But Americans (and their party) are more worried about targeting the innocent than missing the guilty.

i think this actually meets all the criteria. it's unethical, derivative, appears to have very little human influence, steals IP, and gets stuck in my head once every three days.

ICE investigators were supposed to investigate the killing of Alex Pretti.

Instead, they investigated Alex. Not his killers.

With FBI now leading this probe, I’m calling on Kristi Noem and Kash Patel:

Remove all ICE agents from this investigation completely.

Schumer and Jeffries present their list to Republican leaders, "laying out clear legislative actions to rein in ICE and stop the violence."

They also called for "fully ramping down the surge in Minnesota and removing Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem from her position."
