I lived in Minneapolis for five years and it’s one of the best places I’ve lived in my life. It’s a well managed city full of cringingly earnest normies who are committed to celebrating a diversity that defines one of the most vibrant food scenes in this country. My heart breaks daily.

I see these children being detained by ice and all I can think of is that line from The Road: “He knew only that his child was his warrant. He said: If he is not the word of God God never spoke.” The depths of violence I am capable of to protect them is limitless. This is tending badly.

I’ve pretty unapologetically been a Will Stancil fan for a long time, but I think worth reiterating that it’s a good thing that folks like him are a big part of the on the ground organizing for this moment.
