Speaking of movies I’ve watched more than six times, I just found out that Labyrinth is going to be in theaters in January for it's 40th anniversary. Just sharing this info for anyone else who might want to snag tickets.

Sigh. My cat, who has ignored the tabletop Christmas tree since I put it up almost 2 weeks ago,has suddenly decided it looks like fun. He's been batting the ornaments, which are plastic, and trying to chew the fake branches. 🤔

This. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

My clients deal with this nonsense all the time.

Also, they can't force you to pay for services under an IEP. I had a client here in VA who was told they wouldn't implement her son's IEP unless she paid $3000 to be a "classroom sponsor. "
Your friendly reminder that school staff are not to be trusted when it comes to special education accommodation.

They will tell you things that are untrue. They will misrepresent the law.

Why?

Because special ed is incredibly expensive per student.

I hate shopping for health insurance. The plans I'm looking at for next year cover most but not all of my Rxs and none of my cancer docs or some of my cancer docs & some of my Rxs. And asthma & arthritis med prices are increasing in January. 😓😓😓

Why the EFF don't we have national health care???

We're half a decade into studies finding that improving airflow in classrooms will reduce disease transmission enormously, and that bleaching surfaces etc. does very little. And yet nothing changes. Waves of flu and colds wash over schools, and the schools pretend it's an act of God.

My cat is so silly. He enjoys the laser toy, chasing the red dot. Like my previous cat, he knows that my hand controls the dot. So, when he "loses" the dot, he stops chasing and looking, comes over to me, and stares at my hand. Of course, the red dot isn't there but he hasn't caught onto that yet.

Nothing says racism, cruelty, hatred and weakness combined in one quite like the orange felon removing all free access to National Parks on federal holidays that honor black people whilst giving free access on his own birthday. He should’ve been sent to jail forever.

Here’s the thing, emerging scientists aren’t going to flee to do science elsewhere…they just won’t do the science.

We will lose at least one, if not two generations of knowledge if we don’t get this shit sorted out immediately.
My teen, who had dreamt of being an astrophysicist, just told me he wants to go to law school because, “Science isn’t going to be a priority in the US in the future…I don’t want a job where I’ll be constantly worried my funding will be taken away.”

Gutting. How many future scientists have we lost?

Birthright citizenship is the explicit text of the Constitution. It's not open to interpretation. Anyone willing to eliminate it is willing to eliminate anything and everything else the Constitution explicitly provides.
Please note that any "centrist" pundit who blithely discusses the "merits" of arguments for eliminating birthright citizenship is either a fascist enabling fascism or a clueless clown enabling fascism.
