It is a shame that Brazil’s judges are so activist that none of them stepped in to change the laws for Jair Bolsonaro.

I can see an entire generation that thinks turkey is gross and dry because their family let ChatGPT tell them what they're doing.
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

If our entire economy is dependent on AI not collapsing, then it's just time to admit that our entire economy is dependent on rich nepo baby dumbshits tricking other rich nepo baby dumbshits into giving them money.

I dunno gang, at some point we decided that if someone was filthy rich then it must mean they're super smart and capable.

Which is stupid, because what it actually means 99% of the time is that they were born rich and/or are excellent grifters.

YES. It's not "we didn't have these ideas when I was growing up," it's "we didn't have the language to express these ideas when I was growing up so I got to ignore them."
"My mentor always tells me, 'Kim, dogs don’t bark at parked cars." They’re coming after critical race theory, 1619, intersectionality because these ideas mobilized people. They gave them the language to actually articulate what they were seeing with their own eyes," says Kimberlé Crenshaw.

The good news: the president has pardoned the turkey.

The bad news: two hours later the turkey was arrested for running a ponzi scheme and committing acts of gross sexual imposition.

I can’t wait to find out that “Bernie Sanders” is just an alter ego a milquetoast centrist concocted to help him deal with the monotony of Vermont.
Wow — Senators Van Hollen, Smith, Murphy, Sanders, Warren, Markey, Merkley, Heinrich have created an official internal "Fight Club."

They're challenging Schumer & Gillibrand's leadership, arguing the party is using an old, corporate-friendly playbook insufficient to take on Trump or win elections.

I’m old enough to remember when you had to at least pretend it wasn’t about oil.
"WE'RE GOING TO LIBERATE THE OIL COMPANIES! And, uh, sure, I guess the people there too? Whatever."
Rep. Salazar: "We're gonna be doing a favor to us, to our children, to our economy, to our oil companies to be able to liberate. And to Venezuelans who wants to be free."

Real good thread. There's no making good economic policy w/out solidarity against oppression/exploitation. Even if you look at it only from a voter recruitment angle, beneficial economic policies are unlikely to be recognized quickly by voters for a host of reasons, but solidarity will.
You want to harness economic populism? Then get off your ass and do the difficult work of building solidarity across and through difference. That’s what makes a coalition; just look at who’s winning.

Asking people to abstract their identity away into some aggregate is a failure mode.

Wake up.

Folks, it's time an adult sat down with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and has the talk with him about how no one in Mad Men is any kind of aspirational character.

Then have the Fight Club talk with him, just because I'll bet someone has to.
Sean Duffy: "Dressing with respect -- whether it's a pair of jeans and a decent shirt, I would encourage people to maybe dress a little better which encourages us to maybe behave a little better. Let's try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we come to the airport."

I cannot believe that someone in the Year of our Lord Twenty and Twenty-Five has made "dress up for air travel like it's a big deal" a hill to die on.

The airlines are lucky I don't dress in accordance with the way they treat their passengers.

1,294. Attack of the Clones
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

Possible that Bezos is in the files but remember that WaPo is run by an English guy now and the English are committed to the principle that there should be a class of rich people who simply cannot be held to account by their inferiors.
The Washington Post editorial board decided the Epstein files have “no public interest” before even seeing them. That’s a stunning position for any newsroom to take. Praising Clay Higgins as the lone ‘no’ vote, too? No wonder no one trusts legacy media. Absolutely disgusting.

We don’t need to reform ICE.
We don’t need alternatives to ICE.
We don’t need to engage in dishonest debates wondering what the U.S. would do without ICE.

ICE isn’t even 23 years old. Most adults know a world without ICE. And the billions used to fund ICE can be used to meet people’s basic needs.
