Just did a 5 mile run on a trail I often use and beat my 1 mi and 1 km times without really pushing. I can definitely feel my speed increasing naturally as I run more, it's kinda fun :D

Perhaps a bit niche, but hits both my nostalgia and special interests.

Germany has agreed to stop ChatControl for now, due to huge amounts of public pressure. Good job! The bad news is that it could come back as soon as December, and the German government has interpreted the feedback as a need to “moderate” the proposal.

How ridiculous.

Well I just knocked another 6 minutes off of my last 10k time. Felt pretty good, too! Winning 💪

Just did a 10k run and knocked nearly 12 minutes from my last 10k time. I wasn't going for speed, looks like there's something to be said for pacing yourself! #running

I'm at the point where I've seen first hand production platforms running AI generated code and have found critical vulnerabilities in those platforms. We're getting to the point where the number of emojis in the code will be telling of the number of bugs.

An unusual item in my collection, Mister Black’s Secret by Catherine Barr. At first it seems like an early example of cheezburger speech but it was actually written in a shortlived teaching alphabet called ITA.
Page from a children’s book. There is an illustration of a black cat peeling around a piece of wood. Text reads “Mister black, the cat, peered around the corner. On the porch a stranger was eating the food put there for mister black by his family.” but the spellings are sometimes phonetic and use strange characters other than those of the standard Latin alphabet.

Awesome, congrats! I was there last month and really enjoyed the place and the people (and the food!), I'm sure you'll love it! 🥳

I had one of these! With different branding, but most definitely the same device. I've probably got it around somewhere still, great little thing.

One day, nearly 2000 years ago, a cat dashed across some drying tiles, somewhere near Hadrian's Wall.

It's immortality of a kind, isn't it?
Photo of square orange tiles, set into the ground, across one of which several cats footprints are clearly visible.

If an adult uses a VPN to avoid age verification who does that hurt? None of this makes any sense.

UK government asks everybody to stop using VPNs.

"everybody who's out there thinking of using VPNs...verifying your age keeps a child safe...So let's just not try and find a way around. Just prove your age."
