If your library system doesn't have an ebook you want to borrow, Libby makes it trivially easy to make a request. For example, @hclib.bsky.social's website literally directs folks to tag the book in Libby with the "Notify Me" smart tag.

Control for adding the Smart Tag: Notify Me is displayed, with the tag description reading, "If these titles are added to my libraries, let me know."

More information for the Notify Me tag is given: "Tagging a title with Notify Me doesn't guarantee that a library will acquire it, but Libby shares your interest (anonymously) with your libraries. If they add the title to the collection, we'll let you know right away."

"1. Search title, author, or series. If no results are found, Libby will automatically expand into a "deep search" to display relevant titles that are not yet in our collection.

"2. If you run a search that returns fewer than 100 results, you can tap the filter button to manually enable “deep search."

"From the expanded search, you will see relevant results with a Notify Me option. Tap Notify Me to tag titles and be notified if they are added in the future. If a title does not appear in the "deep search" results, it is not available to be ordered at this time."
