"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable." - President Kennedy, 1962.
How we beat back the corporate takeover of America:

1. Break up corporate monopolies

2. Continue building union power

3. End Citizens United and get big money out of politics

Let’s keep working to unrig the system.

Will you support this @alsobrooks.senate.gov and @vanhollen.senate.gov and @ivey.house.gov? What about you @govwesmoore.bsky.social?

Your voters in Maryland want to know.
We're gonna need a truth and reconciliation commission and Nuremberg style trials to reckon with all of this evil, and any Dem candidate for office who shies away from a full reckoning in the name of "moving forward as a nation" can get well and truly fucked
I feel much safer today knowing that we deported a Babson College student back to a country where she hasn't lived since childhood.

She wasn't even flying internationally. She was flying to Texas.

Anxious for stupid reasons but since the sprouts are out of the oven all I can do is study. I'll art on Saturday as usual.

"a single person of this demographic may have committed a crime, therefore we must punish the entire demographic" is a policy response you may recognize from fascist governments dedicated to ethnic cleansing elsewhere.
It didn’t even take 6 hours.

The death and destruction our empire brings to the world will come home to us eventually. Especially as this regime betrays our promises of support.

Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

In some ways it was harder growing up but so liberating to just not give a fuck what other men think. At best The Norms are just boring, at worse destructive. The Apprentices and even some Journeys at work still seek out my wisdom. They may call me cringe but I am free. And they know it.
So many men go through life like that. You can play poker because it's right-coded, you can't enjoy fruity alcoholic drinks because they're women-coded, you can't lick an ice cream cone because it's gay-coded. All day, every day, choosing and judging things based on coding for narrow norms.

The problem with ICE is not that it's targeting people who aren't criminals. The problem with ICE is that it's an unaccountable secret deportation police. It cannot be reformed under a better president. It can be made less terrible, but the instrument of repression remains for the next tyrant.

This is a deeply unsurprising response, but I will repeat it yet again: we—DC residents—are unified in stating that we want federal agents and the National Guard out of our city, and they do not keep us safer. This has always been about control, not public safety.
US Defence Secretary Hegseth: Trump has asked for 500 additional troops to be deployed to Washington, DC, after two National Guard members were shot.

As working artists, we're NOT running any #blackfriday sales, nor are we doing anything out of the ordinary for #smallbusinesssaturday. We have a shop where we sell stickers, potion toys and prints. Shop small, shop local, buy from artists this holiday season. 🙏

Snow next week -- around Tuesday? We're skeptical but watching the possibility.
Cold air will be coming in as some moisture tries to come up from the south... but it's not clear they'll connect. May be more rain or the precip could miss us entirely.

Fellow workers, avoid the parkways entirely. Suitland. GW, BW, Rock Creek, Cabin John. All of em. When our customers ask what took so long to get there, tell them you were avoiding attacks and kidnapping by State Sponsored Militias.

15 days until my master test. If/when I get the license, does that mean I'll be starting my own company? I don't know. It does mean I'll have more options. I'm not going to pretend I'm the best tech in the world but I know how I want to run things.
Me, calling The Boss about a demolition project tomorrow:
Hey Boss! What state do I need to leave it in tomorrow? Just duct, Pipes and wires? Whole thing out?
Boss: Leave it in whatever state you need to install the new equipment.

... Ok!

I do HVAC in the DC area. 160 on a roof in the summer isn't that uncommon here. We can do better as a civilization if we want to. We don't have to, but self-selecting out doesn't give us much of a future.
IMPORTANT: NASA map shows temperatures of up to 160 degrees on Phoenix streets & sidewalks. All that unrelenting concrete and asphalt for cars. Not nearly enough trees. They start with ridiculous heat that’s only getting worse with the #ClimateCrisis, and then make it much worse with bad design.
