The fact that Phyrexian Tower taps for colorless is wild. #MagicTheGathering

The whole point of democracy is so one person's derangement does not become everybody's problem. It's social hygiene. The fact the richest men in the West are a mix of grotty twelve year olds and deranged apocalypse fanatics is a problem, and we should be honest about it.

At a certain point your fear about getting sued has to take a backseat to your duty to your readers.
The New York Times twists itself in knots pretending it doesn’t know things that it absolutely knows. Such as referring to the shit in Trump’s AI video as “brown liquid.” 9/

Dems need to run ads in these states showing soybean farmers talking about how he's betrayed them while bailing out the competition. (And use that word competition.)

If you can’t get the news from the news then they’re not really the news are they
if the president does something so awful it would be indecent to describe and ask about then you very obviously need to describe and ask about it, thats the entire job

Oh it’s not appropriate for your program to air the president wearing a crown and shitting on American citizens?

You’ll talk about it in euphemisms? Maybe call it the “crown video” and ignore the shitting part? Because that’s appropriate?

Tell me, was it appropriate for the president to do it?

seems that RFK is clearing the path for his CDC to do tuskegee syphillis experiments as a matter of course. in other news, RFK is a genuine monster who relishes in the pain and suffering of those he feels he has control or dominion over
RFK is undoing human subjects protections so he can conduct placebo trials of vaccines. That means infecting people knowingly. I wonder who will “volunteer” for these trials? If history is any guide, a lot of incarcerated and other powerless people.
Dismantling the Institutional Review Board (IRB), that oversees all human subjects research, is bad. Really bad.

They want us to believe they’re “joking” when they do this shit.
They don’t know how to joke.
When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.

I hear from informed sources that these #NoKings rallies are more than twice as big as last time, making them easily the largest protests in US history. Thanks to everyone and especially organizers.

this rocks. when indiana edu killed the student newspaper, Purdue stepped up, printed the forbidden issue, drove it to Bloomington and stocked the boxes.

Laws are not self-executing. Is this an obvious Hatch Act violation? Of course. But without good men and women in government faithfully executing the laws, it doesn't matter.

When this is all over, assuming we still have a constitutional government, there needs to be an accounting.
By my count: Of the 15 Departments of the US Government, 13 launched new BlueSky accounts tonight (all but Justice and HUD), and all 13 have posted explicitly partisan political posts blaming Democrats and/or Chuck Schumer for the government shutdown.

Al Gore didn’t hold back: The Trump admin is “attacking the heart of truth,” twisting facts like the Nazis did in the 1930s. From climate denial to rewriting the Ukraine war, it’s all about power—not reality.
Gore warned the U.S. is under siege—and every former leader should speak out like he did.

Centrist Dems are just as much to blame for Trump as Republicans are.
In calling out Cuomo for only visiting a mosque AFTER he lost to a Muslim candidate, Mamdani perfectly illustrates what’s wrong with Centrist Dems. They are:
•Elitist
•Reactionary
•Out of touch
•Transactional
•Consultant driven
•Offended when shown how to do better
They’ve learned Nothing since 2016

"We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both." –Justice Louis Brandeis

Words spoken many years ago that are just as relevant today.

We must continue the fight to get big money out of politics.

Let’s not forget the bounties we paid for “terrorists” people turned in to us in Afghanistan.
In 1910, the Census director had the brilliant idea of paying local census officials by the person counted. Grift thrived. Eg, 30,000, or 25%, of Tacoma WA's records were found to be faked.

Paying ICE bonuses for exceeding a quota of people disappeared makes the 1910 Census bureau look great again.

Great piece here (and why AI regulation is one of my top three priorities). No surprise that Newsom caved to money, it’s why he should never be president.
CA governor Gavin Newsom vetoed both of the major AI bills on his desk that Silicon Valley meaningfully opposed—one making it illegal for bosses to use AI to fire workers with no oversight, one requiring chatbot sellers to ensure their products do not harm children before marketing to them.
Silicon Valley's capture of our political institutions is all but complete
The tech lobby kills off two key California AI bills, and why it matters. Plus: How Sam Altman played Hollywood with Sora 2, organized mass social media deletions, and more.

Hey everyone, you’ve been asking me to run for office for a while, so guess what?

I’m running for California State Assembly!

Now, I don’t like asking for money, but we gotta pay for this somehow, and if everyone throws in $7 we’ll have the resources to run one hell of a race, so, uh, do the thing.

Every time the administration members say “I haven’t read it”, reporters MUST respond, “Then your staff didn’t prepare you for this interview. Perhaps your staff is only telling you what they think you want to hear.”

Diversity is our strength, no matter what racist, bigoted Republicans say.

Real Americans embrace diversity, equity and inclusion.

Real Americans reject Trump and his white nationalist cronies.

Trump is bad, project 2025 is bad and the people who love America, the real patriots reject both.
