Even if adults decided to have a boat load of children they can't afford, I still don't think children should be made to suffer because their parents made those choices. The state should absolutely help because that's what taxes should be for.

We were running it in a year. Within 4 years we had a majority of town seats flipped Dem. A FAR more progressive Dem than old party

“Rather than taking over the Democratic Party the same way the right took over the Republican Party, we should take the easier route and just start up a new party ourselves!”

Taking over a party from within is a real thing that happens. There’s precedent for it at multiple points in American Trump JUST DID IT to the GOP.
Creating a new viable party hasn’t happened since 1856.
Creating a new viable party hasn’t happened since 1856.
There’s a two party duopoly in this nation.
Is it great? No! Is it reality? Yes.
Creating a third party means building up an entirely new infrastructure from scratch and then fighting both R & D.
Taking over the Dem Party is an easier and more effective route. It’ll take time, but it’s worth it.

Seems as good a time as any to remember that of the 56 countries that have comprehensive enough immigration systems for MIPEX to rank, the UK ranks 55th in family reunification rights. A terrible, moral stain of a situation.
The one country that ranks lower?
Denmark.

Denmark steals possessions of people seeking asylum, as policy. It returns people to situations where they are killed.

I'm not saying this is remotely the worst result of this entire god awful situation, because very obviously it is not, but if I don't get to go home for only my third Christmas in the last 12 years, I will be a bit irked.
The FAA is cutting 10% of air traffic at 40 of the nation's busiest airports, canceling hundreds of flights and creating uncertainty for many more passengers. Here's what to do if you're one of them.
