Dublin’s deputy lord mayor says bus lanes not needed at weekends as he doesn’t see congestion but claims bus lanes add to weekend traffic
Dublin City's deputy lord mayor has said that the operating hours of 24/7 bus lanes should be reduced because they are not needed on weekends, as he doesn't see congestion then, but in the same breath, he also said that the bus lanes are adding to congestion on weekends. The deputy lord mayor, Cllr John Stephens (Fianna Fáil), said: "A lot of residents of the Navan Road have asked me 'Do we need a bus line in operation for seven days a week, 24/7?'"

Amazing moment on French TV. A French judge explains how Trump sent people from the US Embassy basically trying to intimidate her during Le Pen's trial for embezzlement - something they've done to other judges around the world.

Delaying the 2026 Climate Action Plan is deeply concerning. Efforts are already way off-track & the CAP is the main tool for closing the delivery gap this decade. Saying we must wait for post-2030 carbon budgets is conceptually backwards - delay now makes future targets harder and more expensive.

Judge calling cyclists a “nightmare” sparks Labour Party complaint to Judicial Council
Comments made by Judge James O’Donohoe that "Cyclists have become a nightmare in Dublin" have prompted Labour’s transport spokesperson, Ciarán Ahern, to submit a formal complaint to the Judicial Council. Deputy Ahern said: “The commentary by Judge James O’Donohoe is deeply problematic, and has exhibited a clear perception of bias against cyclists in his decision-making. These comments were beyond what was necessary to determine the matter before the court, and what’s more, they have opened the floodgates around negative, uninformed remarks about cyclists.
