Somehow "the most qualified candidate ever" was rejected by the 2020 Democratic Primary electorate without earning a single delegate. Anointing such a candidate was electoral malpractice of the highest order.

Seeing more ICE criticism coming from Democrats. That's good. What's not: their votes increasing ICE's budget
www.stephensemler.com/p/boosting-i...
Boosting ICE funding is bipartisan. This column chart shows ICE funding from 2016–2025. In red are Trump budgets, from 2018–2021. In blue are Biden budgets, from 2022–2025. ICE funding went from $6.8 billion in 2017 to $8.4 billion in 2021, to $10 billion in 2025. The 2025 budget passed after Biden left office but largely continued 2024 funding. ICE spending rose by less than $50 million. Data: CRS, Public Law 119–4.

Damn dude imagine if we had a guy like this in charge of the party instead of the absolute parade of losers we’ve seen for the last 15 years. Unfortunately that’s impossible

Politico reports that Senate Democrats are planning to spend the government shutdown holding a fundraiser at a Napa Valley luxury resort/spa and wine cave, where they will be bankrolling the conservative candidate that they are trying to buy Michigan's Democratic primary for.

Outside of Minnesota, the overwhelming majority of Democrats viewed him as an annoying gadfly at best. He was one of the only politicians who took positions based upon his convictions of what was best for the American people and not the donor class or some tested focus group.

FWIW, it’s a crime what has happened to all those great places in our lifetime.

I thought she wrote the “No knickers” quote in her autobiography.

“Great, no knickers.”

I wonder if this photo came before or after that cheeky remark.

youtu.be/JIxJOO02jWo. Around 1:00am last night my elderly father’s emergency phone app malfunctioned. While I was failing to fall asleep, I had this melody running through my head. I used an app and hummed it. This was the song running through my head. I haven’t heard this in years. Go figure.

That was such bullshit! Great marketing campaign, but I’m not happy having my time wasted.

Due to today being Star Trek Day, I wanted to share a few things I've written about Trek over the years, beginning with my piece for The Atlantic back in 2017 about the two-parter "Past Tense":

Revisiting the Most Political 'Star Trek' Episode
In 1995, the "Deep Space Nine" installment “Past Tense” stood out for its realistic, near-future vision of racism and economic injustice.

I thought your rating was a little low, but I wouldn’t have rated the pepperoni so high. I enjoy the content. It brightens my Sure Happy It’s Tuesday!

The Cubs have the top wild card spot well in hand with a month to go and yet Cubs nation has been having a panic attack. Don’t get me wrong, they have their flaws. Nice to see a “W.”
