Well, yes, but that would require a sense of shame.
Used to be, one trait associated with integrity was the ability to acknowledge a mistake, apologize, and attempt to correct it.
TAPPER: You were the deciding vote that allowed RFK Jr to ascend to the role of Health Secretary. Did you give him too much credit?

CASSIDY: The fact is the scientific community agrees that vaccines are safe. That's all I can say.

Paul Sperry (@paulsperry.bsky.social) should either put up a single piece of evidence that I was the recipient of leaks of highly sensitive, investigative information from @jamescomey.bsky.social or take this down and acknowledge error.

Either support this claim—which you cannot do—or retract it.
This from @paulsperry.bsky.social is a bald-faced lie and contains no element of truth. I never received a “leak” of “highly sensitive details about an active investigation” from @jamescomey.bsky.social—in a October 2016 or at any other time, on Google or on any other platform. He links to nothing

There seems to be an emerging consensus on the importance of shame for responding to our present situation. Interesting to think through this excellent piece from @benjaminwittes.lawfaremedia.org alongside @olufemiotaiwo.bsky.social's piece from September.

Assuming folks are paying for the “ICE scrapers” with credit cards, this could be pretty expensive for Home Depot given the processing fees.
Notably, a pastor wearing a stole appears to be one of the organizers (20-24 seconds into the clip).
@jackjenkins.me
In Monrovia, California, protesters are purchasing 17¢ ICE scrapers from Home Depot and immediately returning them to create long lines and slow down the entire store. Their aim is to disrupt sales and convey a message opposing ICE raids occurring in their neighborhood.

Hardly my favorite theologian, CS Lewis played here to good effect:
A friend who teaches theology shared with me a post about CS Lewis's Mere Christianity, which discusses foundational Christian logic across denominations. It reminded me of Dale's tweet below, and I wanted to share some thoughts here regarding modesty and respectability, which are often hot topics.

Unpacked:
In Aug., Govt said if Abrego pled guilty he could go to Costa Rica, where he's okay with going. Abrego said no to plea. Govt now wants to send him to Liberia. Why not Costa Rica? Govt told judge Thurs that Costa Rica wouldn’t take him anymore. @mariasacchetti exposed them.
Costa Rica will accept Abrego, per @washingtonpost.com .
If true, DOJ, DHS, and Dept of State caused lies to be disseminated to Judge Xinis all day Thursday, where an ICE official testified about info sent him by Dept of State, claiming Costa Rica wouldn't take Abrego.

Ahem. Mr. Fitzgerald et al.

CITE YOUR SOURCES!!!!

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
In a recent filing, defense counsel for Comey raise (I think for the first time) the fact that Dan Richman was technically no longer “at the FBI” as of June 30, 2016.

Ditto the academy, the church, etc, etc.
I will also add — and this is my personal take — the obvious point that journalist pay is generally not meritocratic when looking at the industry as a whole: the folks that make the most money are *sometimes* the "best" in their field, but, tbh, usually not.

This is becoming quite the theme in American jurisprudence!
Judge is wondering why the government needs 7 months to prove its case. Says “a good prosecutor” would have discovery ready to go the day a defendant was indicted.

Rep. Salazar, apparently referring to socialism, says Dems have been “infiltrated by an ideology that is completely foreign to the American values — the Judeo-Christian values.”

Religion note: Myriad debates around it aside, there's a long history of U.S. Christian and Jewish support for socialism.

I initially read this as saying “according to new research that _confirmed_ what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other,” and it turns out that checks out too!
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

Do we need religion for morality to make sense?

Thinking that religion is required for morality is getting things backwards. Our moral sense preceded religions and shaped their ideas about right and wrong.

NEW from me: Catholic clergy, nuns sue Trump admin over Communion access for ICE detainees.

All told, more than 60 religious groups/denominations and ~10 religious professionals have sued the Trump admin this year. This lawsuit adds one more group, four more clergy. religionnews.com/2025/11/20/c...

Most colleges score low on helping students of all faiths – or none – develop a sense of belonging. Faculty can help change that
(The Conversation) — Respectful relationships are key to students’ sense that their spiritual identity is welcome on campus. Schools can help foster those connections.
