I want to do what I can to help out with struggling families. I know it's not food or rent but it might be a speck of joy & it's what I can do.

For the next 4 weeks I'm going to give away 1 Glitter & Mica watercolor palette per week to a family that is struggling & needs gifts. Details below:
#SNAP
Got there before I did. Well done.
The sandwich is both exploded and intact.

One wonders if the prosecution has a quantum physicist in the wings as an expert witness; this is clearly Schrödinger's sandwich.
Defense begins, “This case, ladies and gentlemen, is about a sandwich. A sandwich that according to Agent Lairmore somehow both exploded on his chest in a spray of mustard and onions but also landed intact on the ground still in its Subway wrapper.”
The sandwich is both exploded and intact. We don't need Melville or Hawthorne; we need Erwin Schrödinger. It's clearly his sandwich.

Too bad no one was around to throw any cats, or sh*t woulda gotten real. Or not.
It sure pissed him off when Kamala did it.
Preeeeeeeach it
The DNC didn't win last night; the fired-up Democratic voters did.
In the end we all know there's always been an uneasy tension between the uber-wealthy and the rest of us, and we might be willing to accept some compromises, but it's clear when too far has gone too far.

Pass this along to any Dem strategists, or people in The Media™, who may need it.

💚💜

The Media™ can recover a lot of credibility quickly by being willing to call a lie a lie, and the Dems can recover from two ass-whippin's in the prez race by backing the candidates the voters actually WANT, not what's acceptable to their donor class.

9/10
What both The Media™ and the Dem establishment should take note of is that there are a lot of people in this country who know when we're being bulshitted, and when we're being told that the things we want, need, and deserve to have are out of reach or unrealistic.

8/10
New York City elected a populist, reasonably sane, socialist leaning mayor against the wishes of both the GOP (as well as its metastatic MAGA cult) and the Dem establishment, who by all appearances are even slower to learn than The Media™.

7/10
In 2014-15 or so, the Dems had a galvanizing candidate, who got a LOT of people energized, in Bernie Sanders. A lot of what he was saying was not too different from what Trump was saying, but saner. He was a populist.

The Dems torpedoed him in favor of Hillary Clinton.

6/10
The Media™ was slow to learn. For the longest damn time, they would not call a lie a lie. They're still unwilling to do so. There are "false claims," but few lies.

This is one reason many people — liberal and otherwise — don't trust The Media™.

5/10
The trouble was that The Media™, in presenting birtherism, legitimized it. The effect was "Golly, there may be something to talk about here! Let's discuss it!" instead of "Get out of our faces with this obvious bullshit."

That legitimization platformed Trump, and got him the White House.

4/10
But there wasn't. Birtherism was bogus from the beginning, a nakedly transparent and overtly racist attempt to unseat a candidate by cheating.

(Even then I was contending that the GOP couldn't win a fair fight. That's still true.)

3/10
One of the more vocal proponents of birtherism was Donald Trump, who was known principally for being a "reality" TV "star."

The Media™ floated the birtherism story on the grounds that there was something, perhaps, to be discussed.

2/10
Starting around 2006-07, "birtherism" became A Thing. This was the right-wing hack movement that sought to illegitimize Barack Obama's run for president on the grounds that he wasn't a US citizen; they wanted to see his birth certificate.

And as gifts you got a resurgence of blue energy, and the end of a war architect's existence, and may everyone's 50th be that good.

Happy (late) birthday!
"I keep pushing all these BE AFRAID buttons but nothing is working any more!"
Thank you for your attention to this matter!
"Siri, how do you say 'smack my head' in 38 randomly selected languages?"
I'd answer this question right here, but Bluesky won't let me write a four-page sentence that has only one period in it.

(Pretty good writer he was, too.)
I Pledge to Investigate this Chalk Wielding Terrorist and defend our great Country from Socialist Jihadist sidewalk Art. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
"Fifty-one percent of the mouth-breathers we polled were baffled by the movie's ending, so change it."

Same sort of thing happens in the music industry. "How DARE you change your style on this second album? We might lose money!" Etc.

And the insipidization continues apace.
