What @prisonculture.bsky.social always says is: find the thing you can do and do it. You can’t do all the things. (Or something like that but more eloquent). I remind myself when I feel I should be writing marching observing delivering organizing meeting reporting shopping
I paid my therapist a zillion dollars to tell me this, so I’m passing it on to anyone else in MN who needs to hear it:

Think of taking time away to recharge not as not doing the work, but as doing quality control for the work. You’re not going to be able to show up to do it well if you’re depleted

And all good trekkies should remember the wisdom of Darok: "If they succeed, you can drink to their courage. And if they fail, you can still drink to their courage."

This part. Celebrate every victory, large and small. Celebrate each other. Celebrate the love and solidarity that hold you together. Never stop doing this. It's fundamental.
I don't keep doomers in my feed but since apparently some folks do: "celebrate each and every win, loudly" is Organizing 101

ICE/GOP/corporate Dems/Trump are DOWN but not OUT. Now it is time to (metaphorically) KICK THEM. Never forgive, never forget.

“LET US OUT!”

women & children scream for help inside a detention camp in TEXAS, where private prisons like core civic make billions of taxpayer dollars holding them while abusing, neglecting them, refusing them health care, feeding them dirty food & water, etc.

In our name🇺🇸

I sat down with Peter Gelderloos to talk about his decades of work exposing the damaging impact that pacifist discourse has in resistance movements, stigmatizing people who fight back boldly. You can hear the whole interview wherever you listen to podcasts or watch the video on YouTube.

People are right to be incensed, but there are more names to uplift. ICE killed an immigrant man named Silverio Villegas González in Chicagoland. He had children. Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped in Minneapolis and died in ICE custody on January 14. Their names deserve to be repeated, too.

Never forget that the reason they are so convinced you’re all getting paid is that they are all getting paid.
The fact that every right winger with influence screams "who is paying for all of this" tells you exactly how awash in cash they all are, and how much they rely on that to keep their movement afloat.
James O'Keefe says he's never seen anything so organized as the anti-ICE movement, observers--he seems to think this term is code--everywhere he goes. Who is paying for it??? he demands to know. It's like he can't even imagine people caring for one another.

The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.

the administration's ongoing justifications of this obvious murder make their goal clear: the only thing that will keep you safe is total and complete submission, at the expense of any personal values or constitutionally guaranteed rights

I have had that feeling before where in the middle of an action you feel how tangibly another world is possible, but this time I feel it across an entire city. So many here are seeing what life could be like if it were organized around different principles, if the rhythm were completely different

The regime will lie. That's what fascist regimes do.

It will continue to murder people in different ways. That's also what fascist regimes do.

Regular people will continue to refuse and to not cooperate and to fight back in all of the ways we can.

Alex from our time working together, while he was in nursing school. Later, he moved to ICU, working as a nurse to support critically ill Veterans. He had such a great attitude. We’d chat between patients about trying to get in a mountain bike ride together. Will never happen now

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

When liberal politicians frame ICE bloodthirst as a training problem, they are continuing a broader historical pattern wherein righteous political unrest is used to justify increases in police capacity.

What all the crowd shots won’t show you is this energy extends to the rest of the metro. There are additional huge gatherings of people all around the cities, ICE watch is visible on so many street corners, walk a few blocks and you’ll pass people clearly in the middle of distro
This is the scene in downtown Minneapolis this afternoon, where thousands of people have braved -25F wind chills to protest ICE operations in Minnesota.
