So I woke up this morning to explosions. Live fire training at Ft Hood isn't unusual but this was different and there was no info anywhere about it

Anyway the Air Force is dropping bombs on central Texas all week and calling it routine but I haven't experienced it in the 6+ years I've lived here 🤷🏼‍♀️
Hear that? Fort Hood B-52 training heard around Killeen on Monday
The Killeen Police Department has received several calls on Monday morning about loud explosions in the area.

When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.

Genuinely think our society is lost if we can’t find a way to start caring that the ostensibly most powerful man in the world acts like this.
this is one of the most psychotic things Trump has ever posted

I dunno, I think it's bad, actually, that the President of the United States has public orgasms when people who don't like him are tragically killed

Shocked by the awful death of Rob Reiner. I spoke with him for over an hour last night. We talked about his work and his plans for the future. I always enjoyed his company. We met at his Dad's in 1975. Last thing he said to me was "See you next year.." Such a terrible end. Such a sweet man.

This is such a good thread
Taking a break from the sickening tragedy to focus on the beauty for a moment. Rob Reiner achieved something so rare and coveted that artists and entertainers dream of and rarely achieve: cultural permanence. How many times have you made a reference to something going to 11? Shouted "Inconceivable"?

Rob Reiner made and did a lot of things that mattered a lot to me and I kind of thought for a long time that he was a Type of Guy there were a bunch of and turns out, no, there are like maybe six of that Type of Guy and they just have insane work rates and they all hang out

Oh god no. He’s one of the nicest men I’ve ever met in my entire life. The one day I met him he went out of his way to make me feel welcomed and valued. Please let this be a mistake

So at the end of Polar Express, there's a voiceover of the hero boy grown up talking about his bell and the voice actor is Tom Hanks so I have to assume hero boy grows up to be the same Polar Express conductor who originally kidnapped him

Is it time travel or is it one boy's descent into madness

In the last few weeks, I’ve become increasingly convinced that Trump and his regime are totally cooked.

They can only stay in power by stealing elections—but they can only do that if enough people are willing to help them.

They’re in a downward spiral and can’t pull themselves out of it.

It is overwhelming to think about how it must feel to be one (1) private individual being personally, publicly, continually tormented, harassed and persecuted by the highest levels of the United States government
My full write-up:

In a dramatic series of overnight developments, the Trump administration took extraordinary steps to try to re-detain Kilmar Abrego Garcia within hours of his court-ordered release, but a federal judge stepped in and blocked the move.

I think it’s also true that loneliness among women has historically been treated as an individual problem, while loneliness among men is treated as a societal problem. That, in turn, comes from an assumption that women are supposed to earn the company of others while men are entitled to it.
men’s loneliness gets “more airtime”?

baby I have lived the past three decades of my life witnessing corporate media elevate men’s loneliness into a full-blown balls-to-the-wall CRISIS once every 4-5 years

“more airtime” is hilarious
