Tatiani Elliot was brave today.

She is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and gave her testimony in front of Washington state legislators. And they silenced her.

“Now that some of us are finally speaking, the rules are changing.” ~ Tatiani

One of the series of Epstein files documents that has launched a criminal investigation in Norway—into Thorbjøn Jagland, on suspicions of corruption and espionage. But according to Todd Blanche, US prosecutors see nothing wrong here—though it presents a clear violation the FCPA, 15 USC §§ 78dd-1

An "accidental discharge of their rifle" at a middle school?

A rifle? That has bullets that travel through walls and such?

No armed person was found during the search.

I've said it before and I'll say it again

"We can't fix the Dems, we need a new viable third party" is the political equivalent of "we can't fix Earth's environment, let's colonize Mars"

In that however hard the first one might be - maybe very! - the second one is orders of magnitude harder

A journalist couple from Peru who crossed the border into the U.S. claim the death threats they received in their home country because of their work are proof their lives were in danger.
Journalist couple whose asylum petition was denied say death threats are proof they were in danger
Legal advocates for two Peruvian journalists say the rulings against the couple make asylum cases more difficult.

Kinda wild that credit cards on ORCA is going to make fare enforcement almost impossible.

Fare checkers can’t scan credit cards so the plan is for you to read your CC number to them (in public!). On Apple Pay, you can only see the last 4 so if someone else has the same last 4 as you, you ride free

I have no idea but it doesn’t seem like ORCA will provide such a system

Proof-of-payment in America is cooked. We’re going backwards. This sucks.

An executive order to rescind a tariff that was already illegally imposed by proclamation which violated both US domestic law & a signed/ratified international treaty. We are a very serious country, with a very serious political system. Please clap.

Big congrats to the Trump admin for walking themselves into an order that they declare, under oath, what actions they have been taking to mobilize ICE in Springfield, Ohio and South Florida. Whoops.
NEW: In response to DOJ's request for a stay pending appeal of her Haiti TPS order, Judge Reyes questions the "suspect" nature of DOJ's "irreparable harm" arguments, orders DOJ to file a declaration about what actions DHS has taken "in expectation" Haiti TPS would end, and sets a hearing for 2/12.

👀 Apparently, Ross Douthat invited Seth Harp to debate him on Douthat's "Interesting Times" NYT podcast. Harp says that the episode was recorded, Douthat got crushed, and RD/NYT decided not to publish it.

I keep thinking about this Epstein "torture" email.

If you look up people who told Epstein at other times that they're "in China," there's a shortlist: Raiders board member Larry Delson, Harvard math professor Martin Nowak, international consultant Joshua Cooper Ramo, and others.

It used to be the case that FBI agents were supposed to dress like white collar employees.
Now they have their camo vests on as if they are about to be dropped in Fallujah...to pick up some paper ballots.
Reviewing video from Fulton County elections raid.

Taken aback by the dismissive & sneering attitude from FBI agents toward the cop politely asking to see the warrant.

Looked him up: He's an immigrant w/ a doctorate in philosophy. His thesis? "Force by police officers toward African Americans."
