I think this is at the heart of why AI is useful to fascists. They seek to throttle the imagination, so people won't be able to think of ways to stop them. People won't be able to hope for anything better.
I spotted this on Mastodon and I find it horrible, not least for the speed with which this has happened.

Re-Posting but for 15 Aout/La Fete des Acadien. Was supposed to be home for Acadian day but wound up cancelling the trip due to the fires. But the tradeoff is I got to see P'tit belliveau deliver one of the best Acadian day shows I've ever been to on the Halifax waterfront.
Happy #canadaday! Happy I get to spend it in my favorite bit of Canada, my home town of Pointe-Verte, NewBrunswick. Here's a lil piece of pixel art I made of it a while back.
