Biden’s IRA gave tax credits for that rare earth magnet factory in Sumter, SC — the one Bessent’s taking credit for. Advanced Energy Project Tax Credit (Section 48C) makes this possible. Drives me nuts seeing him claim it, especially after that jab at Steve R., who clearly gets under his skin.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

And yes, that includes the demolition of the first family’s beloved movie theater, constructed in 1942.
