🧵While the tentacles of Epstein engulf Trump, ICE is literally locking courtrooms to hold secret hearings.

They don’t want you to see what they’re doing inside.

What's going on at Minnesota's immigration courts should alarm everyone.

Judges are limiting access to court proceedings, citing safety concerns. Observers say it’s an overreaction that hurts transparency.

"I know they killed him"

Lucía Pedro Juan was detained with her husband, Francisco Gaspar Cristóbal Andrés, on Sept. 1. She was held for almost 3 months in Camp East Montana. She was deported to Guatemala. Her husband died on Dec. 3.

I traveled to speak with her for the El Paso Times.
Exclusive: She survived ICE custody; her husband died during detention
Guatemalan widow shared a hug, a tickle and these words with her husband: "Cheer up." It was the last time she saw him alive while they were in ICE custody.

Heartbreaking. The University of Nebraska will terminate its entire Earth science department.

One of the country's most successful and respected geology & climate programs: gone.

When ideologues & politicians are threatened by the very act of studying climate change, I wonder: who of us is next?
It's over.

Despite the fact that the academic council recommended against it, despite the fact that the program brought in more tuition than it cost, and despite the fact that Nebraskans need & deserve this expertise, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences will be cut.
