I wander about New England's mountains. Sometimes I write about it. Punk rock and endurance sports might have saved my life
when I was a boy my family lived in Italy for a year,

so I learned that Epiphany was when la Befana brought gifts to us children,

and Joy, Hope, & Peace to the world.

5 years ago Trump and his deluded followers brought the opposite to our nation.

It is high time to reclaim January 6th for good

As a Dane, I hate this rhetoric so much. The way that white people have appropriated and romanticised "vikings" as some sort of brave horned helmeted race that conquered the world with their big muscles and boats. Not least because that image is being used to promote white supremacy.
Remember, the Danes were Vikings. Don’t underestimate their resolve. #ElbowsUp from one northern country to another! 🇨🇦 🇬🇱 🇩🇰

In my opinion

Dry January doesn’t have to start until Epiphany

But if you wait until then you ought to stay sober until St. Valentines Day at the least

I appreciate the Tour de Ski,

but the final stage climb to the top of Alp Cermis is ridiculous, best Nordic skiers in the world single stick coaches walking up the steep pitches.

It would be a better race to do a longer loop around the stadium and finish 1.5-2km further down the climb up the Alp.

so the new 5km Heat format,

mass start 20x4 heats, fastest times win.

A 24 year old Jessie Diggins would eat this format up,

But Jessie is 34 now.

Still, she is the Tour de Ski leader right now, and the USA skiers all have some very fast skis today.
