Finally an introduction post for this account! I'm a trans woman named Cassie, who is currently getting her PhD in Sociology! I do research in environmental sociology (focusing mainly on climate change and conservatism), but I'm also interested in topics like LGBT+ and indigenous issues!

ICE has only existed since 2003. A Bush-era creation, it is a militarized federal secret police that has been imbued with the Supreme Court with the unconstitutional power to ignore the fourth amendment.

CBP just deployed tear gas and shot one person in the face point blank with a less lethal munition. This is a suburban neighborhood where the community is now mobilizing to push ICE/CBP out of their neighborhood. One agent threatened to pull his gun on protestors.
