I didn't spend 10 years in mines of academia to be told ignorance is morally equal knowledge.

tbh as long as you keep buying into the idea of centralized media, no matter how good the intentions of the original creators sound, you're going to keep running into this problem. there are alternatives. but if you want to go running to the next "big thing", don't cry when it ends up like--this.

I hear the owner of BS is a transphobic bigot. surprise! good thing the fediverse is still around--not owned by any one particular techbro asshole, not beholden to any particular government. it has problems, but "owner decides to be a fascist and there isn't anything you can do about it" isn't one.

I do most of my social stuff on the fediverse (big platform is mastodon.social), and have been since '18. it's not without its problems, but one of its main draws is that it *can't* be taken over and co-opted by fascists. BS was never going to be anything other than BS in the end, tbh.

definitely not the first--polar/grizzly hybrids have been recorded for over a decade, as polar bears are driven south by melting ice floes and brown bears go north to escape human encroachment.
