The Steam ban of @santaragione.com's HORSES is extremely worrying for us who make games, who want to push the boundaries of what games can do, and make a living of it. This concerns everyone who loves this medium. Read this, share it, and support HORSES when it comes out next week.
Our upcoming game HORSES was preemptively banned from Steam, with no path to appeal. The game will still launch next week on December 2nd and will be available on EGS, GOG, Humble, and Itch for $4.99. Here is a detailed FAQ covering what happened: horses.wtf/BannedFromSt...

Man, everything is so bleak, anyone got a fun fact or little bit of trivia they want to share

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

I don’t have a whole lot of advice for people younger than me but the earlier in life you stop worrying about what other people will think and just wholeheartedly enjoy the stuff you like the happier you’ll be
One thing people kind of tell you, but not really, about middle age:

One day you'll be like "oh [thing] looks fun but people will think I'm a loser" about a thing

And then you'll say. Wait a second.

Fuck 'em

My guess is that someone only does this if they don’t actually have empathy for real people who are directly affected by these decisions, and they think they are (shittily) playing 4d chess for leverage in the next election, but they are in fact just greedy idiots with no principles.
The American People: “Chuck Schumer, we have provided you with all the leverage you need to win this shutdown fight, once and for all.”

Chuck Schumer *flushing the leverage down the toilet*: “What?”

If a budget deal goes through without restoring Medicaid & ACA subsidies, they will never be restored.

That's a death sentence for millions of Americans but also to the entire republic and economy: Health care is a for-profit business generating TREMENDOUS economic activity & will grind to a halt.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

This illustrates the full process of capturing the "Essence" of a mesh to be used in a morph. The distance field is retrieved and then the mesh is projected onto the cube-shaped "screen" in order to pack its surface properties into two cubemaps.
