As a disgusting wretch making up the true scum of the earth, a reply guy, I never had a signature pinned tweet. That’s all going to change forever now…
I am going to be frank, I made a snarky post inviting the congresswoman here when she proposed a curtailment of ICE I deemed not good enough. No way that had any impact on her coming but it’s still cool she is.
Trump’s ICE is ramming down doors without warrants in violation of the 4th Amendment. Do Republicans really want to green light this behavior & allow ICE to do the same to their own constituents?

Tomorrow, I’ll be in Minneapolis-Saint Paul demanding oversight and accountability.

One thing I’d like to see is my senators and governor every day on tv at 5pm holding a press conference with video of every documented abuse that ICE is doing. Curate all of the witnessing we’re doing and show it to the press.
Local parents groups asking if adults can ride school buses to help protect children from ICE after a special ed bus got stopped this morning. Like a Dirty Harry movie except the villain in the federal government.

Reading David Roth‘s latest like a bedtime story as i tuck myself in hoping I’m not awoken by deployment of tear gas canisters tonight.

Chuck Schumer is incredibly stupid and evil and his actions are contributing heavily to the misery and compounding crises facing our society and our way of life
Meanwhile, Schumer:

“We’re focused on affordability. This Minnesota thing is going to pass in a few days”

Seriously that’s what’s going around the group chats
"Officers threw flash bangs and tear gas in my car. I got six kids in the car"
"His wife, Destiny Jackson, told FOX 9 their 6-month-old infant stopped breathing and lost consciousness. She then performed CPR on her baby."

Chilling effects on capital flows to our market. I think that’s it. I think that’s my activation phrase.
January 15, 2026 at 9:22 PM
chilling effects on capital flows to our market needs to be some kind of meme, I mean holy shit
Cecil Smith, MHA (landlord lobby), putting his argument against an eviction moratorium in the least palatable terms possible: "Chilling effects on capital flows to our market."

"Even this discussion is damaging our ability to attract resources for future development."
January 15, 2026 at 9:21 PM
Landlords not sending their best
Council Member Pearll Warren on eviction moratorium: "difficult time understanding how this will sustain our families for the long term." What if they can't go to work today, tomorrow, next month? Still recovering from covid moratorium. "bandaid on a bullet wound" and "this is bigger than us."

We’ve seen flagrant violations in MN of civil rights and free speech. We deserve accountability.

That’s why I’m proud to partner with @omarfatehmn.com and Sen Champion to introduce a bill that allows for civil lawsuits for constitutional violations by federal agents.

A big part of what makes this city amazing is it’s the best urban biking in America. Now they are taking that away from us. I hope our beighbor is OK and one of the executive leaders in this state comes up with a plan beyond doing a swear or saying “don’t take the bait” again.
I'm honestly surprised it's taken so long... but I just heard about my first friend who was hurt due to federal agents driving recklessly on Minneapolis streets.

She's injured, but ok. She was on a bike and 3 agents ran a red light, causing her to crash as she tried to get across the intersection.

Given it’s the administration‘s policy that it’s legal and good to shoot ”left-wing activists,” the media may want to take a couple of hours and do some soul searching
Karoline Leavitt has a complete emotional breakdown after a journalist tells her that an ICE agent acted recklessly and murdered Renee Nicole Good. "You fake like you're a journalist, you shouldn't even be sitting in that seat, you're a left-wing activist," she screeches.

My favorite social democrat in America.
ICE must be abolished. It has become a lawless, rogue agency. Federal law enforcement agencies must follow the law, if they're going to have any credibility enforcing it.

We are demanding justice for Renee Good and the prosecution of ICE agent Jonathan Ross for her murder.

I’ll be honest, this futility is adding fuel to the fire at this point. Executive leadership in this state has failed us.

Security folklore of the morning is that no one should share URLs on Signal because it exposes IP addresses and people should use QR codes instead. Please don’t do this! QR codes are much less secure. If you’re concerned about link security, turn off link previews which you can do in Signal settings

i beg people on this website to stop pointing people to the strib as the default local media source
Last night, the @startribune.com reported the now infamous “shovel” claim from the Dep’t of Homeland Security that is disputed by MPD and conflicts with video, 911 audio, and eyewitness accounts.

We need robust local media that will report the facts and bring truth to power.

Agree with Will here, key to our response is understanding local geography, and a huge flood of new folks would restrain our capacity for a long time before growing it.
Getting a lot of messages. A lot are like "Can I come help?" (appreciated, but unless you know the area very well, probably not THAT useful) or "Can I send money?" (not to me, please).

But the best ones are like "I want to build what you guys have back in my home city." YES, DO THAT. DO IT NOW.

These New York Times visual journalists do a good job of showing how ICE escalates confrontation. You can see residents and even the photogs confused about why agents are detaining a woman passing through and why the agents dropped so many chemical munitions: www.nytimes.com/video/us/100...

I know AI is a project to make the human mind less capable, but have we applied that framework to modern ”opinion news”. Not just Fox but the whole apparatus is designed to make us stupider, it makes tons of space for stupid people, stupid ideas, stupid ways of presenting info. Needs to go imho !

ICE agents love to wave around paper that looks official. Most of it is a scam — administrative forms signed by ICE supervisors, not real judicial warrants signed by judges. Let's go through what that scam paper looks like versus a real judicial warrant.
