Arctic sea-ice extent current ranks 2nd lowest for the day since record began in 1979, and are on track to set a new daily record low in the next few days.

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? The Climate 8-ball says there's no escape from reality.

CERES has been catching up after the end of the US government shutdown. Many thanks to all the CERES folks for their working overtime to get us this info.

What info? For example, that the Earth energy imbalance is back up to 10.4 Hiroshimas per second.

The biodiversity aka Life-On-Earth collapse wave will hit us sooner and deadlier than expected™️ It will hit us together with the smaller climate change wave.

There will be no 1.5°C to pass because we never dared to define a benchmark other than 0% aka extinction. There is no extinction overshoot.

It takes 10 years for CO2 to reach 90% of temperature impact and hence the 2°C carbon budget is zero today. 2°C is committed based on past actions.

Most species on Earth will go extinct because of past actions too. Nature reserves (zoos) and wild gardens can trick us into thinking it's not so bad.
