I've been the treasurer of a mainline protestant church in the past, and I can assure you we've been champing at the bit to make big IT investments. Blockchain, AI, all of it. We've got so much budget for this stuff.
Filing: Gloo, a developer of AI tools for Christian churches with ex-Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger as its head of technology, seeks an $873.4M valuation in its US IPO (Pritam Biswas/Reuters)

Everyone please diligently check your candy this year. I cracked open a snickers bar and not only did I find a copper ingot, but it was of poor quality.

Worse still, when my man Nanni confronted my neighbor about it, he was treated with disdain.

Text heavy, but if you're a diehard Star Trek fan it's HILARIOUS! I look around for this thing every few years, and keep thinking I should FRAME it 😂

tldr: Aliens don't understand that the movie "Back to the Future" is a comedy because Doc Brown is how ALL Starfleet Engineers behave

Perhaps this is obvious but perhaps not: both my research work and my public-facing writing would be impossible without the astounding resources of university libraries.

My household also makes ample use of our local public library.

Libraries are amazing.
Destroy this myth. Please share if you have visited and researched in a library this past year! RT And give a shout out to your favorite library you have ever visited.

With Tom Lehrer's passing, I suppose this is a moment to share the story of the prank he played on the National Security Agency, and how it went undiscovered for nearly 60 years.

I think it's now possible to make a poli-sci course that equips one for modern political analysis better than most classic theory and has a syllabus sourced entirely from random internet posts.

The real threat of AI to education isn’t just that students cheat but instead that students never learn anything because they no longer have to think critically or understand topics to graduate with good grades.

The intellectual regression we’ve seen in modern life will only accelerate.
