I know I’m reaching Real Adulthood(™️) because we recently got blackout curtains for the bedroom and it’s probably my favorite purchase of the year

This is kinda all I wanted to hear. An acknowledgment from him, and a promise to learn from it. Coaches aren’t going to make the right call every time, and I have faith that next time he’ll do it better.
Adrián González on the Hershfelt substitution:

"With Hal's situation, we were receiving information that she wanted to continue, that she was trying [to do so]... It is circumstances that we need to learn [from]. Obviously now we can say the sub was late."

Damn proud!

That “we” at the end is doing a lot of work, too…. 👀
Trinity Rodman on love from Spirit fans:

“I’ve always talked about how great the @spiritsquadron.bsky.social is, and DC as a whole, and we’re really bummed we couldn’t be having a parade now going back hopefully they’re still proud and we can try again next year.”

I know we’re all gonna crash out and rightfully so. But let’s remember what this team was in the beginning of the year. They were broken with a laundry list of injuries, a coach who lost the locker room, and a grueling schedule and they managed to be the number 2 seed.

That decision to make the sub in the moment is absolutely going to be talked about for a minute but in the grand scheme of things the unity this team has is a product of what Gonzalez has done this season and i look forward to what he will be able to do with this team in 2026

And also when we look back at the overall journey, it was a hell of a season:

• Challenge Cup win
• Trin, Rose, Casey all with epic result changing goals
• Aubrey playoff heroics once again
• Beating Orlando in Orlando—twice!
• Just watching them persevere

Bring on 2026, come what may until then

A real bummer of a result for a special Spirit squad that may look really different next year. I feel like the coaching staff needed to be more decisive with Hal’s injury. Still, I love these lasses; Spirit till I die.

Adrian made a critical mistake at a crucial time but he’s a hell of a coach and one I’m proud to have as our leader. He’ll bounce back and the team will bounce back.

I love our team and I’m so proud of them for this whole season. They fought through so much adversity, and I hate that the story is going to be 8th place winning when it should be a team going through all the injuries that Spirit did getting second.
November 23, 2025 at 3:25 AM
and!!!! The second yellow card that wasn’t. This game should’ve looked so different.

The Spirit players so clearly love each other, their fans and DC. They have earned better!
Scored on in the final last year because a *clear* foul wasn’t called, scored on in the final this year because we didn’t sub off in time.

You really, really gotta feel for the players.

Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman will issue an apology for the county’s support and enforcement of slavery tomorrow.

It’s personal for Pittman — he’s a direct descendant of enslavers, and lives on the family farm where people were once held in bondage.
