When you spend a couple hours dismantling, cleaning, and generally working on your stove hood fans to get them to stop squealing, and you start them up after and the squeal is still there.
At least we can work on figuring out the next step now.

Companies and their stakeholders take all the praise and profit; they should also take all the responsibility for what happens with their product. And that responsibility has to include legal and financial consequences.
There is a crisis of impunity. The Musk/Grok stuff is just one f many examples of people who are counting on there never being any consequences. And it all makes me just incandescently mad.

Companies and their stakeholders take all the praise and profit; they should also take all the responsibility for what happens with their product. And that responsibility has to include legal and financial consequences.
If developers are really worried about jobs and homes first, maybe they could pitch into the costs of finding new water sources and upgrading infrastructure.

As someone old enough to remember seeing 8 inch disks... yeah, they were all floppies, from a long way back.

Fortunately (?) the basement is basically a root cellar with electricity, but it still did enough damage that we checked every other pipe we could find.

When we moved in here we had to replace the pipes because they were old and so filled with sediment that we got no water pressure. Even then we missed the pipe leading into the house, which rotted out a few years later. We learned the shut off valve was on the far side of the basement.

I can't say this loudly enough: THEY ARE TRYING TO NORMALIZE THE KILLING OF CIVILIANS FOR PARTICIPATING IN FIRST AMENDMENT PROTECTED PROTEST ACTIVITIES.

Oh dear, not again! Replacing before might be a good plan if you can manage it, plumbing repairs after the fact are terrible. Keep your feet dry!
