Brilliant series of posts, perfect pacing and tone. No notes.
It's the 3rd of January 1939, your name is professor James Smith and you are staring at a drawing of a fish. It's not a regular fish. It is a completely impossible fish.

This is one of those brilliant ideas I wish I'd had - what if you crossed Nebulus with Chuckie Egg. Perfectly executed by @snuggsy187.bsky.social who has worked wonders developing this for the Acorn Electron (the lower powered sibling of the BBC Micro). It's a long thread, yet well worth the read.
Acorn Electron / BBC Micro - Chuckulus - WIP
Maybe I'll try a thread instead of quote posting stuff !.....
Fixed the flashing egg and bouncing off ladders bugs - thankfully quite simple stuff....
Time for some proper level design, as some are just too damn hard/impossible (even without the DUCK !) 🙄

We're looking forward to hearing about people's #BusAndBack walking adventures in 2026.

We're slowly going to share a thread of ideas.

We'd love to see yours too!

First, how about #TfL's 389 in #Barnet? At 1.5 miles, is this the UK's shortest route? 🧵

Ringwood XXXX porter used to be a great Christmas treat, until covid, and then Carlsberg destroyed the brewery. One of the best beers ever.
Here a 2018 vintage is about to become the ale in a steak and ale pie.🤤

Odd phone call; Some old guy phoning me back as he’d had a missed call from my number… checked I hadn’t butt dialled him, and no, phone has never rang that number. Have the spambots spoofed my number? I’d always assumed they used unassigned numbers? 🧐🤔

Used a Fax machine?!? I'm probably the only person in the world who ever tried to build a web browser INTO a fax machine!

We're super excited to be returning to the Bagpuss Universe for Yaffle Origins. As mega fans of the Oliver Postbox multiverse, we always dreamed of telling the story of Assistant Professor Yaffle getting his first pair of glasses or whatever. Join us on this barren sphere, in this living death.

🧵Teaching Students NOT to use AI

So...I've tried to explain to my students why they aren't allowed to use genAI in MY class (even though the university seems to be encouraging them to)

I've written this document to try to explain WHY it's a bad idea rather than just forbidden fruit.
