A lot more people should know about the bravery Marimar Martinez displayed in the midst of Chicago’s occupation and the murder of two observers in MSP. They tried to kill her, shooting her 5 times, and it’s a miracle she’s alive to push for transparency like this after being persecuted by the DOJ.

Red Balloon is gathering donations for Community Aid Network MN and a few local schools who will distribute the books to kids who are currently staying home. We are asking for mostly Spanish titles for ages 0-11. Books can also be purchased online or in-store and donated using the code CANMN20. Monetary donations will be used to purchase books. Community Aid Network MN serves between 200-300 families each week with free food, diapers and supplies, distributing 1,000 items every distribution day. They started during the George Floyd Uprising and are one of the only mutual aid sites still in operation. Their mission is to organize volunteers, redistribute resources, build mutual aid bonds with their neighbors, and ensure everyone has the means for dignified survival. Rent moratorium is absolutely essential, and the bare minimum @governorwalz.mn.gov can do to protect families right now who are being targeted by the government.
It’s a privilege to represent an ~80% renter community. The most vulnerable of my constituents, along with vulnerable renters across the Southside and Minneapolis, are at risk of losing their homes come the 1st when rent is due. We need @governorwalz.mn.gov to enact an eviction moratorium NOW.
