Hi there, new followers! It looks like a lot of you are fellow UXers who followed me as part of a UX starter pack.

If you do, please have *at least* a profile photo and a brief description. Maybe even a few non-spammy posts under your belt. Otherwise, I will block you, even if you're legit.

My second win against Typhon involved getting the Dio boon where you get more hp, but your total is hidden from you. I ended up overloading on centaur hearts later, and after I beat Typhon, I learned that I had 700+ hp total, and about 150hp remaining. I was a damage sponge that run.

This is inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, but:

I FINALLY BEAT CHRONOS FUCK YEAH.

The funny thing is that I beat Typhon twice yesterday; it's possible to face-tank him if you have enough hp.

In contrast, Chronos' attack patterns are much more fiddly, especially in phase 2.

I love the omega special for Charon and the omega attack for Than. But I HATE how the general run/move animation has her dragging it along the ground behind her. Makes it look like she's too weak to lift the damn thing.

Have you beefed up the arcana that lets you channel faster? I find with the flames it's super easy to put Zeus or Hestia on attack and then just omega attack shit. Plus, if you get the chain lighting boon from Zeus, it really helps with crowd control/aoe.

Apparently it's been out of print for years. You occasionally hear of people finding a pristine copy at thrift stores, but I am not so lucky.

If you are a fan of #DeepSpaceNine and a certain Plain And Simple Tailor, I have some good news: "A Stitch in Time" is on sale for $1.99 on Kobo.

It's Garak's memoir, written by the actor himself, based on his own notes to flesh out his character's background. I just bought a copy.

I'm about to start playing #Hades2 in a few minutes. Fuuuuuuck yeah, mama needs her dopamine.

Indulging in topic 3 - can you share any tidbits about the symbol of the 3 rabbits chasing each other, all of whom share ears with each other? I've always found that image so cool.

There's a novel called "King of Egypt, King of Dreams" by Gwendolyn MacEwan that also focuses on Amenhotep and his monotheism.

It's been a decade since I read it, and the book is 50+ years old, but IIRC, the answer is "he was deep into the autism spectrum, and no one knew how to deal with that."

Freelance illustration gigs drying up. Ad agencies using Midjourney instead of hiring human artists. Costume design turned over to AI wholesale. Good work vanishing.

These are the stories of working visual artists, who describe losing jobs, wages, and hope as their clients and bosses embrace AI.

Visual artists, illustrators and graphic designers share their stories about how AI is being used to lower wages, degrade work and even replace it altogether, in this installment of AI Killed My Job.

My copy of Honeyeater by Kathleen Jennings came in at the bookstore today, and holy shamoly, this book cover is even more stunning in person.
The front cover of Honeyeater by Kathleen Jennings.

It features a woman in a white shirt with live insects crawling all over it, and vines snaking out of her collar. Her face is obscured by flowers so that only her lips and jawline are visible, and a bird sits among the flowers so that its head is in the same place that her eye would be.

The entire image looks like a painting rather than a photograph.

I mean, Luigi had those amazingly well-shaped eyebrows. Maybe he should have let them get all scraggly first, THEN wax/thread after the deed.

... On the other hand, it seems like he wanted to be caught to make a statement, so what do I know.

Life hack:

1. Walk past a picket line on your way to work
2. Call out to them, say that your husband is *also* part of a union, and tell them to keep on going
3. Listen to a responding chorus of cheers

Holy fuck, what a HUGE endorphin rush!

Wait, no, I got confused about the background/backdrop vs the actual pieces of scrap.
cvasilevski.bsky.social
Ok, so if I understand correctly, this is a staged photo, and the claims about the provenance of the various pieces are false. (I'm not trying to be obtuse, I'm just trying to ensure that my chain of logic makes sense.)

My MS office 365 subscription is coming up for renewal, so here's a friendly reminder: you can switch from the new (more expensive) AI-laden version of Office!

Log in to your account, go to the Cancel section, and there you can switch to the "Classic" version of the product and pay the old price.
