Of course the answer to her false concern is to make the cycleway wider, so that fire services can use it in an emergency - bypassing all the SUVs blocking the main roadway…

In London, the east-west cycleway is regularly used by emergency services that no longer have to deal with cars.

I found a great vegan ramen soup recipe by Gaz Oakley youtu.be/D6VaKbsBaxE?...

It’s amazing. Really rich and delicious. Give it a try!

Plus a bonus super-spicy sauce by his dad. Oof!
THE BEST meatless RAMEN recipe ever

But since you mention it, cheese is also fermented and bio-yogurt is the one to go for l, or kefir.

I mentioned vegan because it’s food for everyone, not just meat eaters. BTW, soy has all 9 amino acids and is high protein.

- fermented foods: sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, coffee, red wine (in moderation), dark chocolate.
- spices include turmeric which reduces inflammation and hypertension (high blood pressure).

After every meal, exercise. Even just moving your limbs as your muscles will soak up any glucose.

Foods to enjoy include:
- 30+ varieties of vegetables weekly, which includes spices and herbs each of which count. Variety is the thing.
- lentils, beans (a Spanish staple).
- olive oil, vegan omega oil (needs to be complete).
- mixed grain wholemeal sourdough bread.
- tomatoes, beets, peppers
cyclisethecity.bsky.social
Foods to avoid entirely include:
- sliced “brown” bread and white bread, poor quality pasta, white rice, processed foods that don’t make you feel full.
- sugar and alcohol are recognised poisons. They should be limited. A small daily glass of red wine is OK if you must have alcohol…

Insulin resistance leads to diabetes. In the brain, specific insulin resistance and a lack of ketones caused by diets that spike insulin means the brain doesn’t get the glucose or ketones it needs to survive and so it starts to die, leading to Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

Look up the “Zoe podcast” for free advice. You could do the whole poo test thing but I think it’s sufficient to take heed of their studies and advice.

Also, as a vegan, be sure to take enough B12. In the winter, a daily dose of Vitamin D. Both will energise you…

Two thirds of what you can do to lose weight and be healthy is diet. The remaining third is exercise.

You need to avoid foods that spike your insulin levels. Focus on high protein sources plus vegetables and foods that feed your gut biome. Plus don’t eat anything between 7pm and 11am daily…

And the superheroes triumph in the end. We just need to get our shit together. Don’t we, @teamlabouruk.bsky.social?

I didn’t vote for this. You are an utter let-down. Fuck off.
cyclisethecity.bsky.social
I’m definitely not coming round to your place one day to try some…. 😀

Easy. The media is (a) funded by; and (b) excited by the prospect of the UK having a fascist government next time.

We are already a poor nation outside the London bubble (as poor as the US’ poorest state). Now we’re on the precipice. Time, for those who can, to get out of here, fast.

This is good. Your voice needs to carry weight and your intent enacted.

Genocide is horrific; no words suffice. It is a war crime. The systematic torture (through starvation) and killing of citizens is exactly what the Jewish community rightly says should never happen again.

And yet, here we are.

And how much money will it make - income from water bills, activities like windsurfing, swimming, sailing, cafes, camp sites, and wider benefits to the community from the visitor economy? Oxon is landlocked - having access to safe leisure activities involving clean lake water will be a real spinoff!

RoIreland is the place to be. In the wake of Brexit and now Heil Britannia, the Emerald nation speaks of gentleness, a warm welcome and genuine progression in the European Union. And their well-deserved, long-awaited good fortune is yielding dividends. As we fall, RoIreland rises like a phoenix.

If it’s shown there are benefits realised to tourists and compensatory benefits to locals to mitigate the impacts I’d find it hard to see the levy being seen as unreasonable.
cyclisethecity.bsky.social
So that it’s not seen as “just another tax”, levy-charging authorities would need to show how it is spent to improve facilities that serve *both* visitors and residents. Eg, in the New Forest where I am, making the tour bus loop year-round and two-way could reduce car traffic and animal injuries.
cyclisethecity.bsky.social
… it’s a small extra fee on a bnb or hotel bill, say £5 per night. Given the need to reduce the blight of car traffic in our national parks a tourism levy could support active travel and public transport alternatives (eg open top buses) that are also made available at utility fares to locals.
cyclisethecity.bsky.social
Yes, absolutely. They also use local public resources without paying for them directly, hence other countries have tourism levies as standard to cover the additional costs of maintaining roads, public transport and other facilities. It’s a small amount which actually improves their experience…
cyclisethecity.bsky.social
In the US that leads to tourists’ cars being targeted by gangs. A double edged sword indeed!

The Embankment cycleway (CS3) in London was purposefully built to be wider than was usual in order to future proof it.

Some said it would hardly be used.

Now there’s a decent case for widening it further.

Induced demand is real.
