Hegseth is scum for throwing Bradley under the bust. But if he was willing to interpret any ambiguity in Hegseth's instructions in the direction of maximum war criminality, then he deserves to be maximally "scrutinized" and maximally punished. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/02/u...

Hong Kong is truly into what disaster sociologists refer to as "elite panic".

Replace altruism/mutual aid with elite charity. They impose top down authoritarian restrictions to maintain the status quo to retain power. And deflect and gaslight their culpability in creating the disaster.

A few days ago, I'd asked if the CCP-installed govt would call the spontaneous mutual aid from HKers the work of "foreign forces". Then I thought of the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake, where the CCP denied external aid so the PLA could play the heros and could cover up govt responsibility for deaths
To prevent the remnants of "poisonous black-clad riots" from reappearing, the police Nat-Sec Department is paying close attention to "relevant person involved", with Nat-Sec police chief Li Kwai-wa & his team patrolling the area to "deter criminals" from spreading seditious messages.
