I like walkable communities and safe streets for everyone. We can have nice things!

Hi I’m Dana. Former Project Manager now SAHM. I believe walkable & bike friendly communities aren’t just for cities. I find joy in the minutiae of municipal government because we can have nice things. My hobbies include riding bikes, walks in the park with my family, and reading comp plans.
Breastfeeding was pushed on me so hard that they had me triple-feeding after a c-section instead of supporting and educating me on formula. Everyone told me his latch was perfect until the last day in the hospital but it was clearly not. It took my son about a month to get back to his birth weight.

Im about 15 minutes away from buying a vcr and collecting tapes of all the kids classic movies. The fuck you mean you want $9.99 to “buy” claymation Rudolph?

America is a country that will test UBI hundreds of times, get the same radically positive results each time, and still look at it askance, but will also put untested robotaxis on the road because a billionaire threw a shit fit.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

The town/city/state may change but the language NIMBYs use is always the same.

This right here.
We need to stop telling the electorate that bipartisanship is the way to get things done. On nearly every issue where normal people agree, Dems would say yes and Republicans would say no. If you want that stuff vote for Dems.

This is sad that they couldn’t come to a recall agreement. I bought my husband a used RadRunner earlier this year and he loves it. He was formerly skeptical about e-bikes but is a convert.

Americans throw away 200 million pounds of turkey every Thanksgiving. I am not one to relish in people’s suffering but if we stop foisting corporate-myth 22 lb birds on a nation that has no idea how to cook, it will be a good thing

Aurora from my little light polluted corner of the world. Surprisingly visible to the naked eye and we were able to watch it slowly move west before disappearing.

My son Seamus died 15 years ago today. He was killed by a careless driver in a crosswalk.

He walked at 9 months, almost as if he knew he wouldn’t have much time. His favorite thing to do was throw rocks into water. He loved the moon. He called butterflies “buddy buddies.” I miss him every day.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.
