Vagabond post-active parenting GenXer: DC/Providence/Philly/Wherever. Into bikes, indie rock, contemporary art, fine dining. Good cook, bad musician. Hates all of this.
In all fairness, Kash is dumb as a post and would have a hard time defining the word “credible.”
FLASHBACK — Trump FBI director Kash Patel to Congress, under oath: “There’s no credible information that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked minors to others individuals.”🤔

Corollary to my conversations with @salvagni.org and @samer.is last week: An old Air Force buddy is a retired Tuscon cop, who also did a number of rotations in the Middle East as a National Guard infantry officer, where he was shot. Also as big a lefty as you'll meet, so a bit of an iconoclast.

They have to hold their hands up to see which one makes an "L."
I'm also hearing that saying, "On your left" is now illegal because it makes ICE agents feel bad

I think we should have a serious conversation about top marginal tax rates over 100%.
"The largest immigrant deportation and prison contractors in the US are expecting an epic payout this year: for every $1 that they donated to GOP campaigns in 2024, these private companies stand to reap more than $11,000 in increased annual revenue."

Kind of tangential, but I've always hated the "pre-distressed" look on guitars, furniture, etc, but I suspect The Boss has just played the absolute living hell out of this thing for fifty years.
A judge has ordered the release of Twin Cities independent journalist Georgia Fort this afternoon, rejecting the U.S. government’s claims that her allegations constitute a crime of violence that necessitate keeping her detained.

Missed all the Gen X discourse yesterday, but those of us who are actually in the generation have explained this ad nauseam. We had the ultimate worst bullies and mean kids in our generation growing up, and they were never, EVER checked because adults didn't GAF.

Also, Black Gen X is Democratic.

There are millions and millions of people who aren’t lazy or bad people who just want to have a decent life and will forever or for a long time struggle to get by, my personal preference is to not punish them and their children for it and then accuse them of not wanting it badly enough

Guys I swear it's the leaded gasoline fumes.
Backing up The Argument in NYT/Siena, Gen X still has an astonishing 49% approval for Trump (!), while Boomers have dipped to 42%.

Gen X is currently tracking at 12 pts to the right of the electorate on the generic ballot. Now 9 pts to the right of Boomers, which has to be the largest gap ever.

(looks at one in five people and remembers Carlin's joke about the stupidity of the average person)
A new Pew poll finds that Trump's job approval rating stands at 37%, only 27% support all or most of his policies, and 50% feel the administration's actions have been worse than expected.

Also, only 21% are very confident Trump acts ethically in office.

Confidence in Trump Dips, and Fewer Now Say They Support His Policies and Plans
Only 27% of Americans say they support all or most of Trump's policies – down since last year, with the change coming entirely among Republicans.
