I visited the apartment building ICE raided on Tuesday today. Story to come, but you can walk right in. Half of the apartments have no doors on them. Children's stuff abandoned in some flats. *Citizen* residents told me they were arrested and held for hours in zipties. This is America

100-mile bike ride today, and ~70% of it was on trails

Much of Boston road section had bike lanes, and the suburban roads were ok. Also, some of the road sections could be done on trail/sidewalk (e.g. waltham, southie), but road was ok alternative when considering speed

fascinating thing about this is that electricity prices are going nuts and the structural factors that should drive prices up (data center construction, climate, the increasingly un-ringfenced natural gas market) are not yet playing major roles in the price rises

which means it's only getting worse

Raised crossing, short crossing distance, 20mph speed limit, close street trees for calming, protected bike lane, two-way road narrows to a pinch point / cars have to slow down and take turns.

A strong belief of mine is that we need widespread upzoning, so that new development is dispersed and done overtime instead of quick and concentrated in one area

Also development shouldn’t be limited to loud busy streets, but throughout neighborhoods

More greenwashing solar canopies over surface parking here in Cambridge (near Alewife T), one of the most expensive cities in the country. Solar structures over it increases the switching costs to build, and parking enables car trips.

PV panels belong on buildings, parking belongs under buildings.

• Of the city's 272 precincts, Josh Kraft won 9, including 2 in Dorchester (16-12 and 16-9) and 7 in South Boston
