I checked it out, but Juicy J isn't my thing. I've always preferred more complex lyrics in rap, but I totally understand the appeal of some uncomplicated dance music! I've got my own dance faves where the lyrics are secondary to the groove. (Big Freedia, etc)

Listening to "Hater's Anthem," I can focus on the lyricism more, and she's a great writer! I appreciate her clear diction, and the complex rhymes she sets up, all while delivering artistic imagery & meraphors. I'm delighted! I'm going to have to make a note to listen to more of her ouvre

Lurching momentum that kept my (difficult to capture) attention through nearly the entire 5-minute video, despite the flashing visuals. She raps with intensity and emotion, which is my preferred style (I like Doechii, Megan Thee Stallion, & Rico Nasty fit similar reasons).

I listened to "Kill Screen"! The rapid deep bass beats like a heartbeat w tachycardia & arrhythmia combined w the machine beeps reminiscent of an ICU heart monitor on a medical drama lent a sense of urgency, while the syncopated clapping kept you slightly off-balance, giving the effect of a (1/?)

I love rap and hiphop and r&b! It's great stuff :). I've been obsessed w Doechii (rap) and Tinashe (R&B) lately ❤️

Everything Doechii does is A+, but this is my #1 fave Tinashe song. She's an amazing dancer, too.

I hadn't looked at it before, but Chloe has a music video for "Have Mercy" and the difference in production value between it and "off the chain" is shocking when you consider it was made only 3 years later. I would have guessed 10+!

2 interesting things about that song: the way she sings "Laffy Taffy" and the phrasing of that line is a reference to a song by the same name that was popular on the early 00s, and the stimmy sample "booty so big, lord have mercy" is from a very UNpopular (for good reason) song "off the chain"

I'm not judging you about the anecdote, btw. It reminds me of some weird shit I did years ago. I tended to get weirder the more often I felt lonely/isolated. Idk if you felt like that in 2019, though. Just my own experiences.

I still really love the way Blackalicious sampled Rachmaninoff in "The Fall and Rise of Elliot Brown". It's a powerful, operatic opening that perfectly sets the stage for Gift of Gab's lyrical prowess.

Had to move an electric scooter from where it was parked in the middle of the sidewalk.

If you block the middle of the sidewalk, you make the sidewalk impassable for wheelchair users.
