How will the Timbers replace their most important player? #RCTID
Replacing David Ayala
It’s something that I never wanted to write. Two weeks ago, David Ayala was sold to Inter Miami for $2M. Because my thoughts on the transfer were rather fresh, I think they need some revision based on...

It’s under-appreciated how much Red Bull in general has moved away from their specific 2010’s tactical template, just as the larger elite game has moved away from the Pep inspired positional play template.

The Greenland nonsense should prompt Europe to use the nuclear option: they should threaten to stop honoring U.S. patents and copyrights. That would quickly educate Trump backers like Larry Ellison and Mark Zuckerberg cepr.net/publications...
Time for Europe to Use the Nuclear Option: Attack U.S. Patent and Copyright Monopolies
Trump’s push to seize Greenland includes $75 billion in tariffs that hit U.S. consumers, while Europe could respond by targeting U.S. patents.

The year is 2455. Climate change has made the planet unrecognizable. Nation states have collapsed. However, in what used to be called England, there exists a curious artifact called an independent commission that is considering 115 charges against something locals call “Manchester City”
We seem to have normalised the Premier League's inability to conclude the Manchester City case. The years this thing has taken is pathetic. The longer it has taken the more people have forgotten the magnitude of the alleged offences. Time passing has had a kind of watering down affect on allegations

Norwegian PM Jonas Gahr Støre: every time I meet with Trump he immediately makes clear how angry he is that he didn't get the Nobel Peace Prize and demands that Norway give it to him immediately. I explain that the Nobel Committee, not the government of Norway, awards this prize.

Norwegian PM Støre says Trump repeatedly raises—complains about, pleads for, and demands—the Nobel Peace Prize every time they meet. Støre gives same answer each time: decision is made independently by Norwegian Nobel Committee, with no role for Norwegian gov—a concept Trump appears unable to grasp.

Nuanced take: I think it's really important to give *normal citizens* who supported Trump and off-ramp and *professional writers, pundits and politicians* who supported Trump should have to wear it like a scarlet letter for the rest of their lives
This is aggravating, because on the one hand I think it's really important to give fascists an off-ramp and positive reinforcement when they use it...

...on the other hand, FUCK that guy, in particular.
