I recently put together a list of essential @bsky.app starter packs for every major (and not-so-major) sport.

No one can check out this site and whine about a lack of sports anymore. No more excuses!

if the Indiana Hoosiers just won the college football national championship, in football, you can make a difference in your local politics
there are some people in my replies showing how UNinvolved they are saying PROGRESSIVES CAN'T WIN RED DISTRICTS -- and like.... not right away, probably. But we flipped the school board. We got bike lanes. We pressured a mayor to order the local PD not to help ICE. Local politics isn't ONE election.

Doc Rivers, Steve Kerr, the T-Wolf fans, Sportsguy Nick Wright. More please. Let’s go sports world. You want to see brave? Be an immigrant walking to work in Minneapolis. That’s brave. You just have to say “state murder is bad.” It’s not fucking hard and it’s needed from all corners.

Best TikTok thing going is the two dudes trying food from every country without leaving NYC. If you haven’t seen them yet, it’s incredible. My favorite so far is last week’s. Legit got me emotional.

Everyone is talking about the headlines in the Maduro indictment.

Very few are talking about the legal gymnastics inside it—especially flight allegations, terrorism designations, and immunity workaround.

I read the whole thing. Here’s what DOJ is actually doing.

I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.
Venezuela, Iran and Nigeria are all in Trump’s gunsights. Turns out that together, the 3 countries also hold almost a third of the world’s oil reserves.

Canada, aka Trump’s “51st state,”holds an additional 10 percent.

Forget about politics & policy, Americans have lots of trouble understanding basic demographic information about their own country. YouGov did a survey in 2022 asking Americans basic demographic questions like what % of the country is white, Hispanic, are transgender, etc. and the results are WILD.

I always get drawn back to Al Gore telling voters that he’d only raise taxes on the top 1% and then after the election a poll showed that something like 20% of voters thought they were in the top 1% and another 20% thought they would be in the next five years. Just a total tragic disconnect.
Maaaaan, this. So much this. Every time there's any kind of actual in-depth survey we find that the American people are *abysmally* ignorant about even the most basic political facts, but the pundit class just immediately forgets & proceeds with political analysis based on subtle policy differences.
Feels like so many of our convos are revolving about how voters respond to what politicians are doing, or what parties’ positions on issues are, without much actual empirical sense of what they actually know about those topics.

Police officers who publicly declare that they’ll quit if a mayoral candidate they dislike wins the election are (1) usually bluffing—sure buddy, toss away that paycheck and pension—and (2) exactly the sort of cops cities would be better off without, ones who don’t see themselves as public servants.

How do you know someone is undocumented by looking at them? Don’t answer. We know.
Vance: "If you're an American citizen & you've been to the hospital in the last few years, you've probably noticed wait times are especially large & very often somebody who's there in the ER is an illegal alien. Why do those people get healthcare benefits at hospitals paid for by American citizens?"

When two Democratic Minnesota state representatives were assassinated, the right's response was basically "Oh, gee, that's too bad jk lol." And then the media memory-holed it.

Don't fall for their trap. It's ok to keep thoughts to yourself.

Also, guns are bad.
