Super Robot Wars Y's DLC implementation is somehow both better and worse than how it was handled in SRW30, but in the end I think it's a better model for DLC.
Basically, Y no longer integrates DLC characters in with optional chime-ins in the main story, but gives you a better DLC campaign overall.

First couple of episodes of Mighty Nein have been great, I think fleshing out a little character backstory and taking a few episodes to actually connect everyone is a great choice. It already has its hooks in my wife, a Beau stan from minute one and already way WAY too into Jester's whole deal.
