Very sad to hear of the death of doughty independence and anti-nuclear campaigner Brian Quail. He was my Classical Studies teacher at St Ambrose Secondary in Coatbridge in the 1970s. I last met him in 2020 when we were both on the same stroke ward in the Southern General hospital. He'll be missed.

Seven KCC councillors have defected to Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain tonight.
They are Paul Thomas, Brian Black, Oliver Bradshaw, Maxine Fothergill, Isabella Kemp, Robert Ford, and Dean Burns.
Most had already been kicked out of Reform, with the exception of Burns.
