She is sending the Oregon national Guard back home and is directing the California national guard to leave the State.

I get that the rhetorical strategy here is "look we're the reasonable ones and they're the crazy ones" I just don't think that's a good strategy. The administration is totally lawless and keeping the government open to "help with the cost of living" is an endorsement of that lawlessness
Schumer on government funding: "Our position remains this: We want to keep the government open by engaging in bipartisan negotiation where we can address some of the grave harms Donald Trump has caused to our health care system and help Americans with the cost of living."

According to this Supreme Court, President Biden's Department of Education was exceeding its power by trying to forgive peoples' student loans.

President Trump, on the other hand, has the power to just completely dismantle the entire Education Department.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows the Trump administration to move forward with the abolition of the Department of Education. It gives no explanation for its order. All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/25...

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

Donald Trump is a failed businessman, con artist, and fascist. If he wants to end protests in Los Angeles (and elsewhere) he should resign and become a hermit.

The regime is looking to provoke violence so they have an excuse to invoke the Insurrection Act, criminalize dissent, and federalize the National Guard.

The movement can win with mass participation if we maintain non-violent discipline and win defections from the security forces.

“It seemed nature had gone berserk,” he said.

USGS scientists warns activity could last months, but another May 18 is unlikely.

this is one reason trump and the GOP are inseparable tbh the culture wars have always been the cornerstone of GOP grievances
"What links his two weekend executive orders is not Trump’s concern for blue-state jobs or fair, accurate journalism—but Trump’s longing to control the culture of the United States from the White House. Trump’s first 100 days have been the largest full-scale culture war offensive in GOP history."

The president doesn’t have the authority to impose tariffs on movies produced abroad, but he still wants to be the right’s designated culture commissar.
