I keep seeing people say "oh but people want to keep their jobs they don't want to be voted out" but what happens when these folks lose an election? They become a lobbyist or work in some other corporate position and get paid even more.

I have two thoughts about how easily Dems let angry voters pleas slide off them like water off a duck's back...

1) Nothing permanently alienates voters more than the ease of you ignoring them, in person, over actual serious shit. These folks will not be "won back" later on.

As far as I know, Tom Suozzi here still does not have a primary challenger in his district (NY-3 on Long Island).

The filing deadline is April 6 for the primary on June 23, and if there's a remotely progressive town council member or PTA president in that district, this is the time to make a move.

Think about it like this. This ICE agent was on camera and unmasked — fulfilling one of three "demands" Democratic leader Chuck Schumer just issued in order to agree to save Republicans and give DHS even more money.

And he was still threatening to kill someone.
