Hello! My name is Dirx and while I don't post new art very often, I do enjoy #drawing, mostly #birds, #fanart, and #Gallifreyan.
Mixed media art consisting of ink-on-paper drawings and digital art drawn in MS Paint, all enclosed within a large circle. The digital drawing is of several circles, lines, and dots, representing the Circular Gallifreyan writing from Doctor Who. Translated, it reads "@dirxzilla.bsky.social", and is digitally signed with the same handle in plain text. The colours are in dull peacock blues, with bright teal-green lines arranged in radiating fans. Several cutouts around the edges of this the circular writing reveal various drawings in black ink on paper. They include a moth, a gryphon, a northern flicker, as well as a small peacock that is also used as my BSKY profile picture, and a written signature of "DIRX". Colour pencil drawing of a rainbow-coloured Barioth from the Monster Hunter series. It is bipedal, like a T. rex with armored plating along its back and tail, and a large hammer-like crest on its head. It's drawn in a more cartoony style than most of my realistic work, and has a silly toothy grin. The colours of the crest and armor plates are the colours of the Progress Pride flag, with the blue/white/pink of the trans pride colours bookending on the crest and tail tip. Signed "Dirx" and dated 6/1/21. Black ink drawing of a mountainscape, specifically Mount Chiquita, Ypsilon Mountain, and Fairchild Mountain, of Rocky Mountain National Park. Stark shadows and lighter hatching indicate the jagged, craggy nature of these mountains, and the foreground is filled with more rounded and densely wooded hills, shaded with more stippling than I would like to remember. Signed "DIRX" and dated 2/9/25.

I know this is pedantic, but Kim Davis was not "jailed for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses." She was jailed for contempt of court because she refused to follow a court order (she had stopped issuing all marriage licenses). NYT makes it sound like the Woke Police broke down her door.

In the last 3 days, the Supreme Court ruled trans people have (again!) lost access to valid passports, a federal district court legalized bullying against (only!) trans kids, and Cornell University joined the growing number of colleges agreeing to discriminate/ban trans people. When is it enough??

Twofer. G'mork was my first exposure to Neverending Story, at about 5yo.

Then later there was the Jabberwocky, from Alice Through the Looking Glass (1985). That it could pop out of anywhere was truly terrifying
G'mork, the scary, green-eyed, fanged wolf monster from Neverending Story. The Jabberwocky, a big leathery dragon with glowing red eyes. The Jabberwocky again. It's clearly a big dumb rubber suit but to a kid this was horror incarnate.
