Two girls sit in a bathroom: one sits nervously on the toilet lid as her friend administers her intramuscular estrogen injection.

ive not seen it used much if ever in person, in medical spaces or otherwise, and if it is, i would guess its meaning is likely similar but holds a different connotation

the term "academic" was not meant to explicitly refer to professors in universities either, i was poorly using it as a synonym for "niche". the term cissexual is used pretty explicitly on bluesky to be the opposite of transsexual, a person who has materially changed their sex
doggie.bsky.social
"sex" for most intents and purposes (including here) is referring to primary and secondary sex characteristics, and im not sure why you think there is a semantic argument to be made otherwise in this particular context given that ive expressesly mentioned "material sex characteristics" lol

do you think odos nose in star trek ds9 is like slightly gooey in texture? it looks gooey

the term "cissexual transgender" in most contexts pretty explicitly an academic one used by queer trans people online
doggie.bsky.social
you haven't made a point

apology accepted bud its alright 🫂

some trans people don't have dysphoria, and some trans people don't take hormones, and those two groups aren't don't overlap in a perfect circle, either! do you understand why there is use for an academic distinction in the term "transsexual"?
doggie.bsky.social
personally i believe that if you have a problem with the term or if it makes you uncomfortable, that's probably a sign of dysphoria. start hrt! sorry! stop projecting lol
doggie.bsky.social
i am not being exclusionary by pointing out that transgender transsexual people have different material needs than cissexual transgender people. i know and am friends with several cissex trans ppl (e.g. nonbinary people who don't want to take hormones) in real life! they're chill!
doggie.bsky.social
i think it's deeply cynical to try to pretend that there somehow isn't a difference between people who say they are transgender and people who physically change their sex. the categories broadly overlap but there are in fact differences between them that are important to recognize and deal with
doggie.bsky.social
"cissexual" refers to people who have not transed their material sex characteristics, e.g. with HRT. for someone who larps as a communist online you should understand the importance of the difference between what you feel and the material change you put your mind and body through by taking HRT

There is no such thing as a “transgender cissexual”

It’s reactionary nonsense

All transgender people are transsexual. Including eggs

We are all forced to do extra work to avoid or mitigate harm because we all need to do things that violate the sexual division of labor
